With my E36 M3, I ran about -3.5 degrees on the street. That's probably too much, but I ran 0 toe, and I autox'ed enough to never wear out the inside of the tires. I'd have no problem running -2.5 or so on my 135i. I'd just keep the toe at 0 in front, and hit the AutoX every few months.

Exactly. I have a bad habit of wearing out the outside edge, and would hope that -2.2 deg to -3.0, plus all of the events I do will even out my tire wear. I get a good 150-200 AX runs in a season, plus I'm doing a handful of DEs too.

I'll probably run some 0-60 timeslips, just to see if all this hype about light weight stands up to electronic scrutiny. Eddy, you might watch the "Police Blotter" for the next few days, I might show up. TraQr from: http://www.maxqdata.com/products.htm due TOMORROW. (Crap, I'm spending my life waiting for the delivery truck.) DJ

I don't believe there's any fender rolling required(thats the beauty of this wheel).
A question for those in the know:I'd like to run this mammoth tire size, and use the vorshlag camber plates.I'll keep stock suspension until I decide if I wanna buyout my lease. question:I'm in a lease and dont want to do anything that the dealer is gonna freak about.I assume that an alignment would be needed??? I used fixed camber plates on my last car(Mini S) and alignment was needed. thanks

Yeah, I have the Dinan camber plates up front (fixed, adds about .5 deg. negative camber) which are better on the street IMO, but they don't offer a lot of additional flexibility for putting on monster tires.

-0.5 is not much camber. Dinan plates don't do you a whole lot at all. Do you also happen to have the M3 lower arms? That may add up to enough to run a 245. I would highly recommend an adjustable plate that can go further. Even maxed out, they are conservative on the 1 series, relative to other cars. If it allows for a 255 front, with no fender issues, then why not? Last edited by Eddy@ApexWheels; 02-09-2010 at 11:52 AM.. |

An alignment will effect tire wear. BMW does not warrant your tires, and you'd be running on aftermarket wheels/tires anyway. So you're good |

Well, I'm sold. Just ordered a set in anthracite. I'm thinking I should be able to do 235 up front and then maybe do 265 or 275 in the rear.
Now I just have to decide on a good tire. Probably will be between RE-11s, Star Specs, or PS2s. |
