2010 SCCA Solo - Chart of Modifications by Class
In deciding on what SCCA Solo class to compete in (while awaiting my 135i!), I came up with a handy chart of class modifications I'd like to share with you all (which includes many common 135i modifications):
http://goo.gl/qoJBQ This chart should not be your definitive guide, but rather a first-draft; once you decide on a class using it, read the rulebook closely (get a copy here: http://www.scca.com/downloads) to make sure no modifications you have fall into any exceptions. I interpreted the rules as best as I could, please correct me if I am wrong on anything. Particularly if you plan on competing in Nationals, always err on the conservative side for any gray areas and assume the modification is illegal until clarified otherwise. Comments/suggestions/corrections appreciated. If you see parts that are not listed you think should be, let me know. Happy racing!

2010 SCCA Solo - Chart of Modifications by Class
Updated to 2010 specs, added more 135i specific mods, fixed some incorrect interpretations.
Any rule interpretation experts care to clear up the few I'm still unsure of?

SM allows full metal bearings/bushings. Totally free as long as it bolts to the OE chassis pickup points.

Also, STU does not restrict the wheel offset like in stock.

Yes, I have that listed for the wheels. For the spacers, however, I couldn't find anything explicitly saying the allowable offset, so I defaulted to the stock rules. However, I believe it would be safe to say the following: if the wheel offset is unlimited, the spacer offset should be unlimited as well. I will change that one later on, thanks for catching it!

lol @ the clutch delay valve moving you from stock directly to SM. Sure would be competitive in SM with a stock 135i with only a missing clutch delay valve.

Oh, I believe that an air intake is legal in BSP...if not I have been running illegally. I reviewed the rules and I believe they are OK...

In comparing the Indexes, something really jumped out at me...
the 335i is F-Stock as opposed to our D-Stock 1. If say the target is 55 RTP in open street tire, our 1's 60.6 second time is equal to a 3's 59.7. Sure the 1 is soft up front but is the geometry that much different for the class jump? In either case both go the STU, BSP route, and in the end you're basically going against your own class, but i'll definitely be open street tire stock for this year at the least. Also sort of strange that the 128 and 135 stay the same class... |

Yes, since it is legal in street touring, you are correct that it would be legal in street prepared. To fix...

Updated and bumped for those who might need it.
As discovered in TIS, alignment pin removal is listed in factory manual, so go for it all you D-Stockers! Here's the TIS page with it listed: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=16
