pg - There was discussion of having a Triangle area 1 meet, but it kind of fizzled out during the cold months. I'm hoping the interest picks up once it gets warmer. I came from the Evo world so I know a lot of those guys so I can make it a larger joint meet if there's any interest in that as well. I think I've only actually seen 1 other 1 around. I've got an AW, matte black CSL reps, lowered if you see me around

There are actually quite a few one series cars in Raleigh. I had the first one series in Raleigh. My son is a professional driver who test drives for BMW and turned me on early. Mine is a cashmere silver convertible. I would love to have a meet up.

Anyone in or around the Triangle familiar with the JB3? I'm considering picking up a 2.0 soon but would really like to take a ride in a JB'd car to see first hand.

Downtown CH
Meridian12, was that your dirty, pollen-laden black 135 that was headed west on Rosemary St at the intersection of Rosemary and N. Columbia? Loads of pollen on your black beauty; shameful, very shameful.

I had a sneaking suspicion that was you.. Yes, that yellow 1 was mine... Unfortunately I live on a dirt road with no garage, surrounded by pollinating trees.. Not a whole lot I can do about keeping it clean right now. However, I did just detail it - you would be proud. Looked brand-spanking-new for about 24 hours.

Lunch at Brier Creek This Week?
It just seems the weather is just to nice to ignore (especially considering it'll be 90º F before long). I know everyone isn't free for lunch, but it seems there are a few 1-ers in this area who do have some free lunch time.
Anyone want to meet at Tralí (http://www.traliirishpub.com/) at Brier Creek this week for lunch? I can be flexible with lunch times and days. I'd love to hear Mutilator's cp-e exhaust! Anyone? pge |

If anyone is interested in a meet, I've got a pretty decent size meet (10-13 cars) organized right now with the local Evo guys for this Saturday morning/lunchtime. It would be great to see some more 1er's! Here are the details for the meet if anyone's interested:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/southea...area-meet.html The meeting for this week is: Date: Saturday, May 1, 2010 Time: 9:30 - lunch Place: Brier Creek shopping center Address: Brier Creek Commons 8431 Brier Creek Parkway, Raleigh, NC 27617 (919) 484-9903 For anyone not familiar with it, the Triangle Porsche/Exotic/Corvette clubs have a monthly car meet/"show" in Brier Creek on the first Saturday of every month. It is usually a very good turnout with a lot of different kinds of high end cars. They park next to Caribou Coffee in the parking lot on that side of the street. Typically this meet is open for anyone to attend and park with them, but I overheard one of them saying at the last one that May's Triangle Exotics car show would be a charity event and they're actually going to tape off that area and charge people to park on that side of the street if they want to be in the "show". So, I think we'll need to park on the Barnes and Noble side of the street instead. It will be good if everyone can try to get there around 9:30 so we can park together and try to avoid door dings lol We can then leave from the show as soon as everyone is hungry and go over to Wild Wings or Ale House in Brier Creek to grab some lunch. Feel free to PM/email me with any questions! |

Another chance for a meet coming up if anyone's interested. There's gonna be a dyno day/cookout at Epic Motorsports in Fayetteville on Saturday, May 22nd. Start time is about 10. If anyone wants to carpool/caravan down, let me know. My car will be going on the dyno at some point in the day. Here's the link to the original thread for more details:
