I agree this is a very attractive package for all those reasons - but the identified performance gains seem to be about half of what I would expect - not sure what is going on there. It seems that the JB and Vishnu systems and the reported results of the Cobb 335i tune are increases of about 60 hp plus or twice the gain reported for the cobb 135i tune.

Hello Everyone,

We're working to get another stock N54 135i on our home dyno in Austin ASAP. The dyno graph that you see is very conservative and made on our Portland Mustang dyno which was recently completely torn apart. Keeping in mind we can, and will, release updated maps as we go along. Simply pull the maps off our site, add them to the AP, flash and you have the latest tunes.

Cheers,
Rob

Main concern is getting a good tune for those of us who push it a bit more. I.e. dp's, intake, fmic, meth, and no2 tuning.

I wont use no2 but meth is a must.

well take into account that the gain is only on pump gas with no supporting mods. as of now, I bet the only reason the 135 & 335 power differences are large is not just computing differences but mabey a differance in supporting systems like exhaust back pressure or a different intercooler temps. Just throwing ideas out.

I read on e90post the differences in the 335i and 135i could be due to different locations and different dynos used:

We'd like to get a bone stock 08-10 135i in here at the Austin facility, perhaps tomorrow at our First Thursday event. The 335i and the 535i were dynoed here at our Austin facility and the 135i was dynoed at our Surgeline facility in Portland, OR. We'd really like to see how the 135i performs on the same dyno the 335i and 535i were tested on, so if you are in the Austin area and want to see how much power your 135i would make using the AccessPORT, give us a call at 866-922-3059 and we'll schedule an install and dyno pull.

We're at:
COBB Tuning
2311 W Rundberg Lane, Suite 500
Austin TX 78758

Thanks,

Gary

Rob - the numbers are really perplexing because even if the dyno is conservative you would think that the conservative nature would be reflected in both the stock run as well as the tuned runs. In additon the peak numbers are actually better on the 135 runs for both tuned and stock than they are on the 335i, odd if the Mustang dyno is more conservative than the one in Texas.

Are there significant differences in the code used between the 335i and 135i tunes? My layman's assumption was that they would be very similar or identical.

will the flat foot shift feature be available with this accessport? That would be a selling point for me.

The ROM revisions are the same and shared between the 135i and 335i. I'm not excited about the results from that dyno either, but it was recently fully torn apart.

We have a fully stock 135i coming in early next week to dyno and tune which will provie great results. Tomorrow evening I will be tuning a manual 135i with a FMIC and cat-back. Not perfect for results, but they will be telling of the power delta.

Cheers,
Rob

Can you do that with a flash? I thought it was only possible with MoTec, K-Pro, AEM etc. (Standalones)

So us with mods should wait until stage 2 is done?
"Using Stage 1 mapping with modifications that will significantly alter breathing characteristics of the engine (such as deletion of the catalytic converters or the installation of aftermarket downpipes) is not reccomended at this time. Undesirable performance may result."
http://www.accessecu.com/accessport/...AccessPORT.pdf

"Stage 2: Under development"

Awesome website by the way! Very helpful and organized.

because they may be targeting a certain AFR for max performance, by adding breather mods, like exhaust and DPs you may lean it out too much and it may not adapt properly

not sure how this is affected by the oem ecu trying to adjust

just a thought

The AP has a potential to be great, the numbers look ok. If the actual gains are w/ in 40-60 rwhp think this will be a great success, specially if it can be removed w/ out a trace for dealer service or warranty work
