More LUX vs MTEC
The pics below were taken around noon. LUX is left.
The MTEC is the "Super White" one, but it's not so white compared to the LUX. Although not easily seen, the MTEC does not distribute light as well, favoring the inner ring more than the LUX. Also keep in mind that the MTEC is 4350k whereas the LUX is 6500k. A lower color temperature can appear brighter than a higher one. The LUX is therefore an impressive LED solution. As mentioned earlier, the MTEC's also become extremely dim and very yellow when the xenons are on. In stark contrast, the LUX remain the same in brightness and color temp, displaying clearly defined rings with the xenons. In other words, the MTEC's look terrible at night while the LUX really shines. With the LUX, one is getting the best of both worlds--daytime and nighttime performance. The MTEC Cosmos Blue may be a little more blue than the Super White one, but it looks less bright than the Super White. This has been confirmed by Simon_135i. The Super White MTEC is the brightest looking product under $30. Last edited by Bullitt; 03-14-2010 at 12:35 PM.. |

The "all angel upgrades look bright at night" has some truth, but the MTEC actually looks dim in darkness once you turn on the xenons. |

Me too. I'm definitely looking forward to what Simon has to say. Its definitely going to influence me one way or the other. Right now I'm leaning towards the LUX

i love the look of the HID outer rings but the inner rings are way too chunky (and yes, ive seen them in person, and i dont like it at all)
hopefully somone will make something more balanced |

can't speak because its not my case, but everyone should just get it done and im sure LUX will have the problem solved. Long story...
maybe the actual person who it affected can chime in bottom line is get it removed ASAP. you have been warned by the vendor too! The prodcut has been top notch but some applications obviously seem to have a problem. Dont mean to bash the company but its out there in the open so im just warning that it should not be taken lightly
