Cleaned the MAF sensor. I assume it’s the original one on the car which has 63k miles but looked clean. Looking forward to my next longish drive.

Working on some O2 sensor issues this weekend on the F10 and had a new can of cleaner.

Carrying jugs of fuel? Bro...

Haha yea more or less I was waiting for some to “Bro..” me. Best answer is usually the simplest.

Anyway, I got the new RB inlets on today. Lubed the rear up really good and it slid right into place with the motor lowered slightly.

Next is installing new gaskets on the lines and then lines to turbos.

10 years gone

Today my 1er moved on to, well....., purgatory I suppose.

It's been just sitting here and wasting away, charge the battery and drive it around the neighborhood every coupla months, and finally just tossed it to carvana for just a few grand. Hasn't even had insurance or a plate for 6-7 months.

After all these years of ownership while the 1er lived it's best free range life, at least it got to sleep on the new concrete pad for the garage going up in a few weeks.... Kinda sad it never got to sleep indoors at home. Didn't even mark it's territory! Honestly, kinda thought it would lolz.

The driver who picked it up was all excited, decent possibility his drive back will take an extra 2-3 hours as he stops by his house on the way and swaps the good stuff off the 1 with the stock stuff from his new-to-him 2013 335 that he got for free not running/needing a head gasket & plagued with VANOS codes.

Seems he just started it up for the first time about a week ago after doing top end surgery on the head gasket & cleaning up some super light surface rust in the cylinders. We had a grand ol time chatting for 'bout an hour.

Swapped out the aluminum flywheel FX-250 for a DMFW and F10 clutch. Completely solved my transmission issue where sounded like a box of rocks. Also did all the shifter bushings. Very exited to not have to buy / swap an N54 transmission.

Also, since we were stuck on this for like an hour... if you're trying to bleed the clutch and getting absolutely nothing out of it, fill your brake reservoir to the very top. It was all but 1/4" from the max line but we had 0 fluid. Assuming there's a separate baffle in there for brakes vs. clutch.

No, not sure what happened. Popped the hood and oil is literally shooting out of a small hole in the oil cooler supply line on the top of the engine. Got it home. Going to replace both lines, supply and return.

Damn. Sorry to hear. Be glad it wasn’t one of the oil lines connected to the turbo at least!

Had a free weekend, pulled the panels and finally got a clear look at the damage from that hit and run back in the winter.

Surprisingly, the frame rail is straight as an arrow. Completely untouched. The thing that really absorbed the blow? The amp for the radio. Got crumpled like a soda can right against the frame — probably the only reason the impact didn’t cause deeper structural damage.

Funny enough, the radio and all the speakers are still working perfectly. Go figure.

I lifted the car from the floor pan, got some leverage, and went to work on the rear quarter. Was able to pull about 70% of the dent out. Still a visible crease (you’ll see it in the photos I’ll attach), but way better than I expected.

At this point, I’m thinking the car’s saveable. Just needs some paint and touch-up to bring it back to life. 352,000km and still going.

Not looking forward to that process, lol. It's freaking everywhere. It was squirting out and dripping down behind the fans, so it got blown everywhere inside the engine bay. Accessory belt probably needs to be replaced (again, I just did it like a year ago).

I've wrenched for a LONG time, easily 40+ years, and even I've (ONCE damnit, but still.....) forgot to replace the oil fill cap before the lap around the block.....

so, just sayin'
I feel your pain, I've cleaned that mess.....

And, yes totally you all should be

Not a new item but finally had time to put it on.

Slek single sided CF trunk. Looks even better in person. I installed a fresh smoked lens center tail with it which just finished it off.

Harold @ HPA is great to work with

Still need to put the roundel and plate bracket on, cars not currently road legal so doesn't really matter for a bit.

Need to figure out why it won't let me post the photo showing the epic CSL inspired duck tail on this thing.

My RacingDiffs lsd conversion thingymabob brokeded after an autocross event the past weekend. Luckily the 3.73 diff is okay, just gotta run it open for a while until I pull the trigger on a real lsd. Leaning towards mfactory metal plate 1.5way.
