Radiator Fan Doesn't Kick In
Hey guys,
Last week my coolant hose burst and I had a battery light come up. I towed my car to my mechanic and he took a look at it and figured that the radiator fan did not kick in and the pressure from the system caused the coolant hose to burst. The issue is that its been at the shop for over a week and he can't figure out what's going on. He's assuming its a problem with the car's ECU. He tested out the radiator fan (which works), checked the fuses, the relays, the sensors, and tested the wiring. He claims that the ECU is probably not sending out a signal to the radiator fan to kick in when it reaches a certain operating temperature, and wants to get it reprogrammed. |

My car was running hot in traffic a couple of years ago (but it would go into very hardcore limp mode so nothing was damaged). I think the fan not kicking on was the issue that my mechanic fixed. He didn't seem confused.
