New 125i owner
Hello!
I figured rather than keep lurking it was time I register and say hello… I just bought a 2011 125i coupe. It needs a bit doing to it but I’m hoping this is going to be a great long term choice for a fun car. It’s my 6th BMW. We also have a 420i convertible which is our day to day car, but as we live in London it’s really only a weekend car. I’ve been wanting to do track days though and there’s no way I’d bother taking that on track. So got the 125i instead. I actually had a 2005 E90 for 6 months- took it to 1 track day but discovered how rusty the rear subframe and general suspension etc was and it just didn’t make sense to do everything that it needed. So the 125i looks to be better underneath. Before this I’ve had an E93 325i, and E93 M3 and an E88 125i. Before that a few Porsche Boxsters, a few Mazda MX-5s and a few Hondas way back when I first started driving. Can’t bear the thought of FWD now though… Will post again soon when I get some time to take pictures and start sorting out the car. It’s got a few minor mods that I’m not a fan of, so I’ll be removing those, and also seems it needs the AC compressor doing. Which I’m crazy enough to be planning on DIY-ing… |

Welcome! I've also had a bunch of BMWs, a Miata, and a Boxster. All great cars in their own ways.
