Boot Luggage Lid Shutting
Hi All
Recently taken delivery of 123d M Sport, I used to have 320 si and the boot on that car used to shut under its own weight, this coupe boot requires a lot of slam to get it shut and the salesman has said that his demo one and another at the dealer were the same! is he giving me BS or are they like that seams strange to me to have to slam shut a modern BMW Hope other owners can help me out Thanks Tony |

i have to shut mine pretty hard too, i even shut it down a yesterday, and thinking it was closed i drove off, then the car started pinging at me saying boot not shut, so no your car is not unusual.
But i agree it seemes a bit odd.

thanks for the rep, top pictures in the rain by the way! be better when we get some sun, I did my first proper drive today only 30 miles but the car seams real good on the power front, I had had enough of the 3 series it only managed 20 mpg at best and didnt have the performance to match it was worse fuel consumption than my old E36 M3 Evo!

Same here...noting to worry about I would think.
if it is bothering you, ask your dealership if they can adjust the bump rubbers...that should allow it to lock in with less of a bang. |
