Starting to see 1ers around
To date, only seen two other 1er Coupes - a Sedona M Sport near Reading, and a black 135i that buzzed me near home. Out on a bike ride today, saw a grey 135i and two black convertibles.
Barons BMW at Hindhead has an interesting AW 125i in the showroom kitted out with BMW Performance bits. Had the wheels, silver stripes, carbon rear spoiler, skirts with air ducts (not sure about those, bit aftermarket looking). It also had a colour-coded AW rear diffuser, but with the middle bit left grey. Looked a bit dodgy IMO. Colour match was off, and just made it look like an ES or SE.

I've seen one AW coupe (not sure what model as I couldn't see the exhaust, but it def wasn't a 135i) where I live. Apart from that, I've seen an AW 123d down by St. Paul's and an SGM 120d in Holborn on my way to work.
3 isn't really a lot for the time it's been out, so I'm pretty pleased that they're still comparatively rare. I probably see 3-5x as many 911s in my 30min walk from the office to the station every day! I saw a Spyker C8 parked down by the Bank of England the other week. Very cool, but I hadn't realised they were quite so ludicrously expensive until I checked the list price: £200k! |

Two more - both black convertibles again. One stuck in traffic on M25 last night, and one's parked in the car park here at work. Must find out whose it is!

Thought I saw one go past me at the weekend but could have been mistaken (in denial as I believe I have the ONLY one)

I see a black 120d Coupe in the office car park.
Not seen many 135i's though, mainly 120d's. Nice black 135i Convertible at my stealer's.

Another black 123d on the A5 on the way home. Bugs me that this is the first car I've ever had that I feel like I should give other owners a thumbs up - but you can't tell it's a Coupe until too late

Used to always give a big wave and flash in my S2000's, but as above, it's hard to recognise a 1 coupe.
Also think that there are a lot of 'normal' people out there that would just think that we're insane if we wave

Had quite a few people in M3s of various guises take a bit of interest though - always makes me smile when I can see them in my mirrors pointing and discussing with their passenger mates, what the hell I'm driving!

I've had a land rover defender and two mini's.. I'm used to the whole 'waving loon' thing. Still can't bing myself to wave back in the mini.. used to in the landrover, but had far more time before you went pass each other! ha ha ha
If you want a funny one.. I swear a girl in a pretty much identical mini to mine with a similar number plate nearly rammed another car on the M6 because she was staring in the rear view mirror trying to read the registration!! It is the best looking BMW and still pretty rare, so I guess there are going to be some pointing fingers as you drive past.. Really annoyd at the mo. Ordered new and expecting it next week. Went to dealer to sort some paperwork.. and there's TWO sat on the forcourt second hand with thousands off. |

Oh and recognising one coupe... easy! THe standard ones all seem to have a wierd looking oval grill section in the front bumper.
Never got on with the looks of the hatch, was so glad when the coupe came out!! Still.. makes a good argument for sedona red so you can tell em apart!! |

Saw another, one every day now. Sedona 123d in the gym car park. Winced when stressed out mum type flung open the door of the Peugeot parked next to it straight into the side of the Coupe. Hope it's not somebody's off here.

Saw a silver 120d in Leicester on Saturday, but more importantly, I saw a silver 135i just like mine on the M1. The first 135i I've seen on the road and it looked bloody glorious, so I can't wait for mine now.

I have seen 4 on the road now, a silver coupe didnt see what engine, a black 123d coupe, a 125 sedona red conv, and annoyingly enough a Le Mans blue 120d coupe, which is owned by a guy that LIVES ON THE SAME ROAD AS ME!!!!!
