Hey Carlo!
Your car's looking fantastic! I bet it's a riot on the track with all of the mods you've done!! Be warned though, the standard pads are not up to track work :-( I melted mine... I'm hoping they will have a solution from pagid before the MLR day. BTW, will you take a second set of wheels/tyres with you to the ring/spa in case of heavy rain? |

SUPER, that is exactly what I am thinking of doing.
Same wheels just different colour car, black wheel black car!!! Did you install yourself? Did you use the dedicated 130 kit from BMW? Nice! |

@CDR_UK: i might be bringing a spare set of wheels/tyres for rain use at Spa... I remember in 2007 with my Honda S2000 we picked an awful weather on the day..
You can imagine an S2000 with Toyo R888s under the rain at Spa! It was fun though.. and very challenging to try and keep it straight! I loved it! @Blacky: what is the dedicated 130 kit from BMW? Never heard of it! Pls tell me more... I had in installed by my tuner, not at a BMW stealer.

i.e. the 130 includes the front rotor backing plates among other things, otherwise I believe these may need to be cut to clean the caliper. There is a thread around here with info on the various kits. I will see if I can find again. Here it is; http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11683 |

I'm planning to get some semi-slicks to take along, but for me the issue is where to leave 4 wheels/tyres whilst driving at the ring, after checking out of the hotel?? How do the Michelins compare with the R888s? All the best! |

I beleive the supplied front spare backing plates are ment for use on the 130i built after 7/2007 (there was an all-german disclaimer saying that...). I did not read that note at first so I replaced mine with the spare ones but noticed they were exactly identical as the ones i had already on (dirty but still ok). Now i will need to find some decent track pads hoping that they won't be too much aggressive on the brake rotors. Quote:
I remember your 350Z at Spa.. i am sure i have it in one of my on-board camera car vids. Last year i was at the MLR day with my black 350Z with 5Zigen monotube exhaust, black OEM wheels with red lip and semislick tyres. Pilot Sport Cups are better than R888s (they last more laps) but they might run for less Km in their life and are a little scary on the wet compared to the R888s. See you in May!

performance brakes
Hey Karlenstein,
i have the same OZ 18" ultraleggera's under my E90 325i. I think there are no better wheels on the market and they are unbeatable in lightness. Now i'm thinking of ordering the same performance brakes for my crimson red E90 325i. But i'm not sure if the yellow calipers lookes good in combination with my crimson red bmw with matt black OZ ultraleggera's. Greetings Faf |
