Sounds great.

I am willing to bet the heat will not cause a Limp mode.

Did you consider using BMW's Track brake pads for the 1M. Just wondering since they announced these pads some time ago.

Looking forward to the report! Looks like I'm going to have to wait until beginning of July to get my 1M out to the track (Mosport)

I didn't know about this but I wouldn't object to trying a set when the PF's are spent.

Ditto. I also am expecting that BMW did their homework and that cooling is not an issue, this should be a great test.

LOL. Damn wish I was closer. I loves me some Road Atlanta. my favorite track. it's been 18 months or so, think I'm going into withdrawal. Was really hoping to make the fall CCA event in September with a 1M.

I think the M3 pickup truck would have plenty of room for hauling your toolbox and luggage.

Saw your car at RA this afternoon. Will check in with you some time tomorrow.

Session 1

Tire pressures were 43-45 when I came in so I've backed them down. This made for some exciting slides but thats not why I'm here. Oversteer in 4th gear at 3500 rpms is intense. It's going to take some adjustment driving a street car on track. I really could use a harness as I'm being tossed around a lot.
All electronics got turned off by lap 3 because it was coming on so much, even with MDM.

Hot already...More to follow.

Session 2

I mounted the gopro to my helmet before the session and must have left it on last night because the battery went dead as I was going on track. It's charging now.

I decided to leave MDM on and try the M button. This made me work on being smoother but my lap times were 1.2-1.5 seconds slower then with electronics off (and high tire pressures). It takes getting used to it but when the traction light is flashing you can feel the system working each corner. There's some crazy fast machinery in my group and someone put some fluid on the track last session so I may leave MDM on so I don't wad up my car. I've had 3 people tell me I was crazy for bringing this super rare car to the track.

6 mpg. I'm out of fuel in 2 sessions!
