GC Automobile BMW 1M Racercar with American V8 heart
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com via http://jonsibal.com/blog/2011/12/gc-automobile-bmw-1m/ Global Concept Automobile aka GC Automobile is a professional French racing team which designs, builds and races silhouette race cars. The GC10-V8 body started with a standard BMW 1M Coupe exterior design but was then modified and redesign with a very aggressive body work featuring composite wide fender flares. Although it looks like the limited edition BMW 1M Coupe on steroids from the outside, the GC10-V8 employs a tubular frame chassis typical of Silhouette cars that meets the FIA standards. Everything about the GC10-V8 is functional including the roof scoop which directs air into the intake of – wait for it…...a good ‘ol American Chevy V8 engine tuned by Sodemo Development to produce a maximum output of 550HP. |

The only reason they would have gone for the V8 is because turbo charged set ups like in the current 1M engine (N54 anyone.,,) cannot be abused on the track like normally aspirated engines.

Air curtain city! That design has more vent holes than body panels!

Dude this is SOOOOO WRONG! If it wins the race who does it win it for BMW or Chevy? iT'S like "yeah the BMW held up great during the race it really shows the brands racing heritage; and the chevy v8 powered us through to take the win."
Get a an M V8 OR V10, and please remove the M badge. This car is not M-Powered.

Okay serious note... I don't really care for its looks. If functional. Fine. It could be hideous but its purposeful. But no BMW engine = not BMW and that's where I frown on

Whether we like something or not, there is (almost) always something to learn about one' opportunities, trials and attempts.....I learned a long time ago when I turned 17 and was given an opportunity to drive the then new e30 M3, that a BMW without its motor wasn't a BMW....regardless of its markings or shape!
I don't need any more reminders, thanks. Am I the only one getting tired of seeing "other" cars on Bimmerpost/1Addicts? |

Reminds me of the Judd V8. Except this looks like a 'riced' version. Not to be derogatory but the slammed and wide body kit aspects of this car scream 'riced'.
What V8 was used in the Judd 134? |
