So 135is is coming out for sure. Production will start in July.
My gf just ordered a 135i last week. She might change her decision if the price if 135is is reasonable. Anyone knows the spec? J Lau |

Confused. Did a quick Google search for 135is and it reveals a pile of stories from 2010 saying there will be no M version of the 1 series (turns out there was of course) and that instead there would be a 135is. Fast forward 2 years to today and the 135is nameplate is now subject to a brand new rumour?

He told me if I am interested in that, he will cancel my 135i. =/ |

Confirmed.
Bulletin will release in May, 2012 Production will start in June/July, 2012 The E82 135is will release as 2013 model to replace our existing E82 135i. So 2012 is the last year production of 135i for E82. 135is will not quite be the same as 1M in performance but will be an upgrade from 135i.

Great, this is the send off the E82 deserves. Assume it will have the 240kw spec engine along with other performance goodies?
Wonder if Australia will get it? |

This sounds kind of hard to believe, are you sure this isn't a late April Fools?
The obligatory questions are N54 or N55, manual only or DCT-7 option. Would be nice to close out the series this way, and would mean we will not see the new body coupe and vert till summer of 13 as a '14? What about rest of the lineup of 1 series? Since we will have a 2013 what about a 128i with Turbo-4? For those who paid 70-80k for a 1M this is not very good news, we are talking about pretty much the same engine, and maybe even with a DCT on the 135i stealing some thunder, I can hear 1M prices dropping even though it will still be a much better car overall.

They'll need to keep a decent level of differentiation between the 135is and the 1M. I'd expect the 135is to get the stage 1 performance kit (the one that boosts power to 240kw) and also a bit of extra bling but not much else. Perhaps the performance exhaust if we are lucky. Widebody and suspension tweaks I seriously doubt. DCT for sure since it'd be silly I reckon to go manual only at this late stage.
For me the big question is will Australia get the 135is or not. If so then it's what I will get. |

I think the position of the 135is will be the same as the 335is or the e46 ZHP.
you cant really compare the 335is and zhp with the M3s regarding overall performance. M cars are always gonna be an M. |
