I think with downpipes, midpipes (2 more cats in there in N54), FMIC, intake (BMS is OK) and some +100 oct gas (I´m not sure if you can with Cobb) you should get a close number... Without fuel race you could try meth. Meth + FBO you could get +410 rwhp

The stage 2+ maps will get you damn close to 400whp. With FBO+meth ATR/ATP maps you're looking at 420+HP/450+rwtq.

As has been said, with a significant but not cringe-inducing investment you can clear 400whp without much trouble...Downpipes, a more aggressive map, fmic, new midpipes or axle back and you should be around the target. Add meth and you've def cleared it.

I'd throw a new charge pipe with diverter valve into the mix (along with Dp's, FMIC and CAI), if you're going to hit 400tq/400whp, without meth, you're going to need to be able to build and hold boost. If I did not buy my car with full exhaust already installed I would not spend extra dough on midpipes. Spend the cash on a good axleback and high-quality downpipes that fit right. The shitty ones vibrate and are too loud.
Also, you can have a custom map made for your AP. I know EFI Logics in CT does this or Bren Tuning in Worcester, MA can also do it. It's way better than an OTS map.
Also, Mistr135, this car isn't an STI or EVO. The car has Direct injection and a High pressure fuel pump, you don't need to dick around with any of that Deatschwerks crap to get better fueling. Also, the 135's ECU is far superior to that of a Subaru or EVO.
Speaking as a current WRX owner.
Also, once you buy a bimmer, you have no friends, everyone immediately thinks you're an asshole with too much money to spend.

You can definitely get 400whp with full bolt ons without meth. But if you really just want a dyno hp number, just get meth. Beware that with that much you better get some wider tires or an LSD, or preferably both. I backed off on my plans for meth when I realized that even with an LSD, I still spin tires up into the 60mph range.

Most here just recommend the mods they chose as being best. I'd do the same, stick with your Cobb, get the same bolt-ons that I have listed in my signature, then upgrade to the most aggressive Cobb map and you'll be right at 400whp/420wtq.

To be honest at the FBO tune hp level all different brands of mods are going to perform very similar. It's only when you're chasing the last possible ounce of power that certain brands/designs are worth the cost. Determine how much you want to spend and go from there.

The only caveat I will add is DO NOT buy Dinan. They are the worst offenders when it comes to overcharging people for parts "because it's a BMW." Not only that but their performance is laughable.

I think you can do this without a single turbo setup. Upgraded turbos and a JB4 G5 board should get you there and, of course, the other previous mods that got you to 400 rwhp.

400whp

I am at 404whp and 440tq on a dynojet with only a 2009 n54 JB4 G5, Cp-E intakes, and 93/e85 (55%/45% mix).

I just added a custom muffler delete, now Im holding 17.5 psi tapering to 16.5 all the way to redline. I have a dyno graph if you need to see, but I promise its a good reading trusted dyno, (vengeance motorsports Georgia).

Since this is so old I wont really comment to the OP.

Something I find very interesting though is that in 8 months we have gone from saying that FBO+meth is the preferred method for 400+whp all the way to just a tune, intake and E85 mixture doing the trick.

Really makes me excited for what the future holds for these cars. Hopefully it doesnt take long to see an N55 break the 400 mark.

Hey OP you mentioned upgrading you fuel pump and injectors. Just a quick word.

You cant do that on an N54 car. We have Direct Injection, meaning that the injectors throw fuel directly into the cylinders at thousands of psi.

Since these injectors are bored directly through the cylinder walls you cant just put a bigger one on. Same with the fuel pump, it acts to increase rail pressure to thousands of psi. Its not an easy job to upgrade something like that, and as a result, nobody makes a product.

Im not trying to sound like an arrogant person, but you should do some more research as to how your engine actually operates before throwing parts onto it. Itll save you a lot of head scratching in the future.

Son of a bitch its a scourge thread...well regardless im leaving this comment up.

Actually, fuel pump has become doable. Most are opting for the Walbro 450. Also, Vishnu has a flex fuel sensor they have out for when you go to that setup. I think they are charging like 800+ for it though. The actual part is only like 300-400 but its possibly they crack them open and do some proprietary stuff inside as I cant see any other reason they would mark up that part so much.
