What a joke! Race cars are all less than 1,000 kgs, that's a big part of the reason they are a lot quicker.

Actually Edwin it made little difference. What got you the drop was your much better 60' time.

Traction is all about chassis, suspension and rubber. These 135s will run 8 second passes one day.

That means more practice and a better tune with your methanol should result in better 60' time, better ET and better trap! No I haven't had my 135 to the strip yet, not even once! Remember I had a broken foot where I had to wear a cast for 3 months (so couldn't drive my 135). The other reason is I've got a place for a private day at WSID which I find suits me a lot better than Wednesday nights at WSID in winter! Remember guys, it's not my first rodeo! I've played this game before and I know what suits me and what doesn't.

I don't expect much from ET to be honest, the car has stock wheels and stock runflats and stock open diff. If I can crack a 12 second pass like Richard did I'll be happy. With my car running full bolt ons (including methanol kit) I would like to see a representative trap speed, but I'm not going to shake the earth with a great ET. This is my daily driver, I have my M Coupe for racing.

12.124 @ 114.93mph...
But with a crazy 1.763 60ft! My boost seemed to taper off quite badly in 3rd gear but was good in 4th for some reason. Think i just needed some cooler air... |

That's awesome Richard and that 60ft time is amazing! You're beating Michael and he has an LSD. Those tyres must be the goods, well done Let's see your slip

Awesome 60 foot time BBK. Well done! Gonna be hard to improve on that without drag radials. So your gonna need to find some power or lose some weight to get that ellusive 11. If you can correct the boost drop in 3rd, you might be close.
I think you guys are going to find that LSDs are not the big deal people make them out to be for drag racing. Plenty of 11s without them including some of the fastest times (Hotrod). LSDs are more about track handling consistency and ability to slide the car more repeatably and easily. We have found that LSDs do protect the drive shaft by evening out the load from side to side rather than allowing one shaft to take most of the load. Most cars that snap shaft do not have LSD. |

Edwin, sorry mate didn't log it... trying to keep the weight down! hahaha... MIchael did some logs though, he did a best of 12.03* I think. He seems to taper off a lot in 4th, as opposed to my 3rd.
Adrian, thanks mate :-) It was the last run of my night, I was getting consistent 1.84ish 60ft's all night, till I decided I should launch harder to test it. That was about 2400rpm in 1st gear. Will post slip soon |
