I just mounted RS-3 tires in 265/35-18 and 285/35-18 on the Apex rims. The fronts are very close to the front inner plastic fender liner, so I don't believe you would want to go bigger.

Yes, so I'm hoping I don't find myself in that position too often. I also had thought about ordering the tires shaved, which may have made a difference with clearance. I'm going to get the car on the track later this month, so I'll see if I encounter any issues. I think it will be okay.

What et are you running on the front? If you're running an et22 I wondering if an et35 with a small spacer would give you more clearance at full lock.
As you said it shouldn't bother you much at the track except when parking ... or drifting. |

The fronts are ET22. I'm going to restrain myself from attempting professional drifting and hope I'm okay. I think the setup is pretty close as is. I don't want to mess with spacers until/unless I discover a problem.

Aww, maaaaan! I just ordered a set of 275/35 PSS to go on my ARC-8's - 18x9.5 et22 square setup.
Do you think the fronts are going to rub? Might have to get the razor out |

Yes, I'm instructing at the H2R event for the Tejas Chapter on the 31st. There is also an "outlaw" autocross event at H2R on 3/24 that I've entered in the Elise. It looks like a track event thinly disguised as an autocross. The person setting up the course (Andy Hollis) says he is only using about 12 cones and those include the start and finish gates, so it should be interesting. So, I'm thinking this might be a good time to try out the RS-3s and see how they feel on the track. I may change my entry to the 1M.

There is plenty of inside clearance with the ET22.
