Matte or gloss black wheels with Alpine White?
Since this picture I've added the gloss black grills and I have the 'Performance' CF spoiler on order. I want to powder coat the wheels black. The question is what will look better - gloss black or matte with some sheen?

i ended up purchasing matte because it helps conceal the brake dust a bit better than gloss, but i love the look of gloss too. gloss matches with the shadowline trim and overall to me looks cleaner. BMW on their motogp cars and gts all use gloss black wheels.

I think if you are powder coating the stock sport wheels gloss is the way to go. CSL style wheels I would also go gloss. I have 5 spokes that I chose matte for.

This picture is of just INK BLACK. I'm getting INK with an additional gloss top coat. Should have them back by the end of the week.

Matte is boring makes wheels look dirty and on AW takes away from the car while not even noticing the wheels. At minimum 40% gloss like in the pic above, those dont look bad more gloss would be better. All depends on what look you what for the car. You want the high level of contrast having black wheels on a white car, great but make the wheels stand out or you might as well drive on winter steelies.

I have Matte w/ 20% and I can tell you that brake dust is very noticeable. I can wash my car at my work and drive home, which is less than 10 minutes and I can hardly see the 20% gloss cause its already been covered with brake dust. I bought a set of gloss black CSL style wheels to maintain a slight touch of "elegance" cause everything else on the car including the exhaust says I live on a racetrack!!

I like 40% or gloss. My wheels are a bit boring to me. Yes it's just a 25$ plastidip job, but these are my winter wheels, and I think they'd look better being glossier and not so dull and matte.

Seeing that my 128i is Alpine White, I thought I would just post in this thread. My apologies to the OP for thread jacking.
It is still stock and I am thinking of going with black wheels. My concern is the shiny trim around my windows. Mixing black wheels with this shiny trim, I am not so sure.
