Advan AFE filter test
Hi all
We did some Dyno work today with our 335 shop car, i have fitted up the AFE air intake system as i have found this system to make the most power of any we have tested. In run 021 we had the factory air box fitted with a BC drop in filter total power was 248kw In run 077 we have used the AFE 51-11473 STAGE 2 PRO DRY system total power is 258kw but makes an extra 4 or 5 kw through the power run All testing is with COBB Peter @ Advan |

This filter setup looks like it will suck in more hot air than standard - mainly when the bonnet's shut. Have you dynoed both with the bonnet closed? I'd expect the numbers to be lower for the AFE but similar for OEM then. Tell me to pull my head in if my logic's wrong, I ain't no mechanic.

All the dyno testing work is done with the bonnet down, the cover that we are making is to make this set up more copper friendly and use another cold air inlet system through the inner guard as well as the factory inlet |

Cobb the only other mod?
Just by looking at this, there is no reason why a simple dual cone wouldn't be that much different to this? Obviously when the cover and inlet get sorted it will be much better. |

1- COBB 2- AFE inlet system 3- ER charge pipe Thats it. Exhaust, front mount etc are all stock Yep you could run any cone filters or pods etc that is fine. But i like the AFE system it is nicely made and for a change some thought has gone into it, hey and it works |

You could put a nozzzzzzzzle in the cabin filter housing that will give you a hell of a lift in performance |

Tell you what i'll take it off your hands so you wont have to pay the boys to clean it up Hey I got an idea, you could run a promo whereby if a customer gets their wife's car serviced, they get to pick through the debris that was once attached to your car, now that sounds like a plan |

I took mine off because it sounded like I was going to suck in small animals and nearby pedestrians...
Got it sitting on a shelf here if anyone's interested.... |
