BMW 135iS
For those who might have missed it: the all-new BMW 135is (Autumn 2012).
(repost because the initial thread has vanished). Some info: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=691753 http://www.bmwblog.com/2012/05/15/wo...d-convertible/

Dackel's infamous screen shot of November 2010 already featured a "135is". But that probably referred to the 135i (225kW):

Artemis - I'm glad you re-posted my lap top screen shot. When I read the 135iS headline the other day... my screen-shot was the very first thing I thought of. Its obvious that BMW had this planned this all along. The other thing they changed their mind about was the 1M engine power level. Looks like that (332Kw) 451 PS engine will (probably) end up in the new F80 M3. Can you imagine what a little monster the 1M would have been with THAT engine! 1M CSL anyone? |

So...
We know BMW will produce the 135i (e82) for at least another year. Maybe two. I wonder what the final send off will be? Or is this it(135iS) ??? |

I just wonder IF this 135iS is really the end or not. I guess we will have to wait for late summer to see IF BMW really ends 1M production at Leipzig. Btw... a few months ago I toured Audi's Inglolstadt Werk, where they built the A3/A4/A5/A7's and also the RS3. I was surprised to see that Audi uses CF front fenders on the RS3. That must make BMW think. |

Second, how are they gonna sell the F20 M135i in Europe and E82 135is in US which are both scheduled for production starting July/August, if they don't stop the 1M production? These two are announced to be top of their lines in their respective markets so the plan is very neat and clear imo. I think these new two top 1ers are representing a secondary function of our 1M: It created a good image, really shaked things since 1 year in a good way and now disappearing quickly. Because the mission is over. Now, they are gonna sell the stuff they wanna sell more and this is thanks to the interest 1M fueled and this time they won't be providing bargains too. BMW is not fond of selling us cars as cheap as they can (exceptionally they did with 1M in order to guarantee interest and success which was fundamental), like every real and good business their ultimate goal is selling us cars as expensive as they can. Normal. I don't see any new 1Ms built after July, every indication points this. And I bet when we have the M2 in probably 2 or 3 years, it will be a great car but won't be a bargain like 1M. |
