Placed an order last week !
Hi everyone,
This will be my first BMW, also first non-japanese car and i'm pretty excited because this is the fastest one of them all ! I've been lurking these forums ever since 2010 and i finally decided to join the forums after pulling the trigger last Thursday at Long Beach BMW. I ordered a 2012 135i 6MT in the AW/CR color combo. Also added the premium and M sports package. The MSRP was $43,245 and i got for $40,520 + TTL. Now if only I can fast forward time to April which i'm assuming that's when i will get it. |

congrats to you as well ! 6-8 weeks doesn't sound too bad, my dealer didn't want to give me an estimation for the ETA. I just assumed i'll have it no later than the end of April.

UPDATE:
Went to the dealership to place order on 02/23 Received production number on 02/24 Car went into production the week of 02/29 Production completed the week of 03/07 Car was transported to the port on ??? (dont remember the exact date, it was a 1-2 day process) Car sat at the port from the week of 03/14-03/28 Dealership called to update me on the status on 03/28 to tell me it was in transit I checked the status on the bmw owners site as well as the 1800 number on 03/28 and 03/29 and it still said it was at the port awaiting a shipping vessel 03/30: i checked the owners site and it says it's in transit to the U.S. but the 1800 number states it's still at the port. |

Your dealer should be able to tell you which ship it is on. You can then track where the ship is as it goes between the different ports.

8 weeks isn't so bad if it's a special order for wheels. When i had my RSX Type S, i ordered a set of volk wheels and it took them 4 months to tell me they didn't have them yet, so i had to cancel the order. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you jk |

There are several shippers that are used. Your salesperson can tell you exactly which ship your car is on. Then google that ship name to track it. At least that is how it worked for me a month ago.

Placed order 2/28 ~ 4/7 Production Ends 4/22 still showing production ends. 800 said they think it is at the Port awaiting a ship. No response from CA at dealership about a VIN or ship assignment. |

Ordered mine on April 17th and picked it up today, May 31st. Hope you get yours as quick as I got mine. I could not be happier with the car. What an amazingly awesome car. FAST, smooth and handles awesome. The Harmon/Kardon was an option I got mixed reviews from this forum on and I must say I am very pleasantly surprised at the performance overall here. You will not get earth shattering lows but overall the sound quality is outstanding for a stock stereo system. I am very picky in this regard and very pleased. If anyone is considering whether it is worth the extra cash... it is.
