I have 18x8.5 45mm 225/40/18 & 18x9.5 50mm 255/35/18's. If your setup is working out with no rubbing I think ill go 235 F & 255 R next time around. and yes, to whoever asked I am riding on stock suspension. |

I rented one online from Next Level Motoring for $50 for a week. They ship it right to your house and include a heat gun and instructions. I would highly recommend them.
I did have a question for those of you that have rolled your fenders. Did it push the lip of the fender out slightly? That's what happened to mine and I don't know if anyone else would notice unless they were specifically looking for it, but I can tell. |

Wheels:
Front and Rear ASA AR1 18x8 et40 Tires: Front Accelera Phi 235/45 Rear Accelera Phi 255/40 Suspension and Mods: Stock. Removed nipples and pushed fronts as far negative as I could. I'm a bit surprised and confused, as this isn't nearly as aggressive of a setup as some on here, but these do not fit on the front nor rear. Yes, I went a bit taller, but that's not even the problem. They stick out too far. I even tried the 235s on the rear along with stock front just to see what would happen, and the 235s are still to wide for the rear (rubbing on lip). I could probably get away with the 235s on the rear with a fender roll, but I certainly didn't buy these wheels with the intent of only running narrow tires.

Or maybe this is better Front: 18x8 / Rear: 18x9 & 38mm/40mm. |

Wheels: Alufelgen CS7 Gunmetal
Tyres: Michelin Pilot Sport 3 Front: 18x8.0 ET + 45 and 225/40 ZR18 PS3 XL Rear: 18x9.0 ET + 48 and 255/35 ZR18 PS3 XL Suspension: Birds springs, dampers, ARB (5mm drop at front, standard height at rear). Notes: I don't think I have any rubbing but have noticed a very slight noise that happens vary rarely when going over a speed bump. The noise seems to occur when the car drops back to the normal road level, not when going up the bump. I shall report back if it is definitely related to the new wheels and tyres.

Its good in case you get shot at gangster. I see a lot of guys that just like to drive that way and they are 6 foot plus. I would end up running over something or into something.

The 2 most recent postings have wider wheels with +45 offsets, but are running 255s. I just asked this in another thread, but maybe better here ... am I calculating this right to say that my 8" ET40 wheels are sticking out 61.6 mm from the hub? While someone with an 9.5 ET 45 would be sticking out 75.65mm? So my setup SHOULD fit better, no?? anyway, I am finally running my wheels. ASA AR1 18x8 ET40 at all corners. stock 215/40 RFTs up front and Accelera 235/45 in the rear. Rolled lips and put to full negative camber in the rear. Dinan camber plates and slotted the bolt holes about 1/4" up front. Did hear a very very slight rub in the rear-left on hard banked right turn. Nothing on turning left.

It's been over a month since anyone's posted on this thread. Whazzup? People stopped buying wheels / tires? I used to look forward to seeing new posts.

Didn't see any v718's with modified suspension on here, so here's mine.
Wheels - VMR v718 Gunmetal Front: 18x8.5 +35 Spacer: None Rear: 18x9.5 +45 Spacer: None Tires - Hankook Ventus V12 Front: 225/40 Rear: 255/35 Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: AST 5100 Coilovers, 400lb springs front, 800lb rear, lowered ~1 inch ~2.5˚ Negative Camber up front with 1/4" Toe-Out ~2˚ Negative Camber in the Rear with 3/16" Toe-In Notes: With someone else in the car I get a slight rub in the rear on big dips. The front wheels only just barely clear the struts by a few millimeters, but the tires have at least a quarter-inch of clearance from the spring height adjuster, so no rubbing. I believe with 245's in the rear there would be no rub, but you're losing performance and also have a stretched looking tire which I'm not a fan of. The same rear wheels with an offset of 50 would have been a better choice. The vehicle is sitting on an incline in the photo which is why the rear appears lower than the front. I chose these offsets with my suspension modifications and camber settings in mind, with this wheel/tire choice being for daily driving, not the track. Track wheels coming soon.

I'm not having any issues with what I'm running now. Next time I'm due for rear tires, I'm going to try 245/35 and see if that works.

18 x 8 ET34
Wanted to keep it simple and cheap so went square with 225/40/18 on 18x8 ET34 BM07 Tuning from Replica Wheels Canada.
Yes, I wrote ET34 and they fit really flush and no rub with stock suspension. No drop and probably won't do it since it is a lease. Here's a few shots and more on Flickriver: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/ala...7630907009870/ Last edited by Cado; 08-05-2012 at 06:10 AM.. |
