Awesome, glad someone did this! Thanks for sharing. I plan on doing mine at the 1 yr anniversary. I did a Blackstone analysis on my S65 because I thought it was burning excessive amounts of oil, turns out it was the stupid e-dipstick!

Could you post your results? To clear your personal information, bring the PDF that Blackstone sent into an image editing software and paint over the sensitive info...save as a JPEG and please post so we can all have a good frame of reference.

ignore the comments field...they misunderstood me thinking this is the first oil change...but its the second oil change. First was done at 1100miles at the dealer, and i changed it again at 2900 miles (1800 miles on the oil sample). I called them about it and they said the results were all good. (also had a few track days on this oil sample) |

I recently sent off some oil to Blackstone for analysis. Posted are the results.
The history is as follows: -had 1200 mile run-in service -changed oil at 5k miles, which is when I collected the sample My daily commute generally consists of a 15 mile roundtrip drive that barely gets the engine oil up to running temperature. Once a week I make a 100 mile round trip drive. I also did a HPDE on this oil. I changed the oil to M1 0W-40 because the stuff was on sale at Napa. (Incidentally Mobil 1 is currently on sale there for $5.79/qt.) I'll likely send off another sample of the M1 in another 5k miles. Last edited by ayao; 06-15-2012 at 01:18 AM.. |

I've done three Blackstone oil analyses. The first two had what I considered somewhat alarmingly high levels of aluminum, iron and lead, but -- as predicted by Blackstone -- they all came down significantly in the most recent analysis.
