"I need help"Slick50....Head gasket issue"please help
Well head gaskets blown....just before i get the RB turbo's what kinnda shits that anyways i used Slick50 advanced formula to hook my engine up a bit since its a little past 60,000 miles...O'rileys said it would work fine...they even called for verification....I threw the slick50 QT in and went home maybe 30miles when i awoke for school next morning cars smoking white like a bob marley concert, revs are jacked, exhaust sounds different....so after eliminating issues i found that my head gaskets blown ?WTF right but im curious because my car was peachy before the slick 50 could the slick50 cause internal damage like that?

Really? You checked your coolant for signs of combustion gasses, or your car is consuming coolant?
Why on earth would you pour a $5 bottle of crap into your engine in the first place? |

Yeah, I would not recommend using it at all b/c it has PTFE (teflon) particles. There are many stories (Google) about Slick 50 and similar additives that have screwed up engines.

How long have you run the car after adding the Slick50? It can take 10 miles or so to fully work it's way through. During that time, it'll smoke like a chimney. I can't see how this would grenade an engine, it only contains a tiny about of PTFE on top of the base mineral oil. Mad. |
