Any deals on ER charge pipes currently?
I just got home from NOLA motorsports and had to limp the car home. The OEM CP broke in two pieces at the plastic weld. Any deals on the ER or such currently available? I am looking for something OEM looking, black and uses the diverter valves.
Thanks |

Mine has broken 4 pipes now and im getting seriously fed up with it.
bmw told me that any aftermarket pipes invalidate the warranty, not sure what to do at the moment but bmw should deal with this issue -i had to wait a week due to the standard pipe being on back order.. |

That is BS about the pipe voiding the warranty, my local BMW techs would not know it isn't an updated part, they are a bunch of idiots.
I brought my car in for a basic oil change and a front wheel rebalance last week due to a vibration and I have already brought the car to them three times and still have not finished the job. They dropped a wheel and had to have it repaired and they also STILL have not reset the service lights. I am replacing with aftermarket, I cannot keep dealing with the jerks. |

I love the car, but I HATE both of my local BMW dealers, they are HORRIBLE. The SA's are awesome, but the POS techs in the back screw up the service or damage something everytime my wife or I go in.

Broke mine earlier this year in second session of track day - first track day! Dealer replaced but said it was not an updated part. I am not traveling 600 miles for two session again. Bought the black charge pipe from Harold at HP Autowerks, the one for the stock diverter valves (ERs). If I have a warranty issue, I'll put the stock one back on.

Im currently building a 1 series hatch with m3/m5 running gear with 1m body panels as a cheaper alternative to the 1M,
I love these cars but im really unhappy with the way bmw uk ignore their duties to their customers. -these pipes keep braking and yet we're all forced to buy aftermarket pipes to make them reliable then change them back for servicing etc in case bmw void our warranty. Then we have to hope our cars arent driven off by thieves whilst bmw work out how to make them take longer to steal then a mk1 ford fiesta.. Its a joke and the reason ive told bmw the next time it breaks im backing it, demanding my money back and buying a porsche, If i wasnt building a 1M themed 1 series (using my own 1M as a reference/benchmark) id be doing the same as you guys and risking my warranty in exchange for reliability - but really we should all get together and demand a recall with a bmw upgraded metal pipe.... rant over -jamie |

It does suck, but I can get over it, $200 isn't much for peace of mind. I am betting you will spend more making that 1 series hatch look like a 1M than my 1M cost though, cool project though.

Despite the fact that I don't run a tune or track my 1M, I just decided not to wait for warranty to expire or the stock unit blow all of a sudden and today ordered the ER charge pipe. This car doesn't deserve such poorly designed, flawed pieces kept in, imo a reliable car is always better than any warranty. My whole experience with BMW dealers since I ordered this car was quite frustrating like most people, I pretend that this car doesn't even have any warranty, any free service or so and I am on my own and thus I avoid the dealer as long as it is possible since every time I needed them and took my car in, something unnecessary, something worse than original issue happened due to their incompetence or indifference and I totally regretted doing so.
Maybe my stock cp would never have any issues but I prefer to forget about this potential issue and have a peace of mind over this gambling. Avoiding a nasty problem sounds wiser to me than fixing it after it happens.

Buy at Topgearsolutions.com,
My brother and I bought for our 1Ms since he blew his last week. It was replaced and all with no problems but what a PITA. Like Ozinaldo said its better to drive with piece of mind. We also will be running them with the Turbosmart Kompact DVs. |

id happily pay £200 for the pipe, however the fact that bmw have said they wont honor the warranty if any engine issues arise once its fitted just gets me fuming. Im aiming to buy the 1 series 3dr (crash damaged) then m5(e39) m3 (e46/e90) and z4 (M) parts along with genuine 1M wings/bumpers off salvage sites/ebay etc, i reckon it'l owe me less than half the money the 1m owes me,. i see why people ignore the warranty etc as although my pal works at my dealership-bmw uk are wank3rs and are the reason im thinking of getting out of my 1m. Im really tempted to buy a 997 911 gt2 as they never seem to brake and if they do =porsche dealerships treat you properly and hand you another porsche to use whilst they fix it. i really think we should get on bmw's case and demand a re call to fix the pipe and obd issue? |

With that said it comes down how much are you ready to fight a particular dealer if a issue did arise. Now back on topic. Is ER the consensus it is the best charge pipe when using the stock diverter valve? Or should I change to a BOV?

Just installed mine today. I should do it before since it really gives such better throttle response. My car is mostly stock so if there is someone thinking that it is needed only when you have a tune and higher boost, think again. Quality piece.
