Those are sexy. What would be a good set up for winter wheels on a 135is?

An example of the 1-series on our Anthracite ARC-8's from Bimmerfest earlier this year:

We've got a few sets in stock, give us a call if you're interested!

If I run 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 Michelin PSS, do I need 5mm spacer up front? Also, which color do you think the best to pair it with jet black? I want something other than black but want to makes it look natural. Thanka

What is the optimum tires for this arc-8 with Michelin PSS? I'm asking for optimal performance not maximum rubber I can fit. I'm looking to get best performance thru this wheels and tires. My car is stock, not tune and not lowered.

We would recommend using 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 Michelin PSS with these ARC-8's in 18x8.5" ET45 and 18x9.5" ET62. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Any spacer required? How about the optimal tire setup for a car lowered by 1"? Just curious about this because I might mildly drop my car. Thanks

Spacers are not required for our direct fitment 18x8.5" ET45 & 18x9.5" ET62 1-series wheels, the wheel sizes and offsets were made specifically for the 1-series to not require any spacers or additional modifications with the proper street tire sizes in 235/40/18 and 265/35/18.

How about 8.5x18 et38 up front? I'm on stock suspension and height. Plan to get that front wheels and put 225/40/18 Michelin PSS, how's that? I heard 235/40/18 on et45 might require at least 3mm spacer if using Michelin PSS, so should et38 works fine?

Thanks

Unfortunately the 18x8.5" ET38 is not a 1-series wheel and will cause the wheel and tires to rub on the front, and it shares the same face as the 18x8.5" ET45 that was designed specifically for the 1-series. We do not recommend stretched tires as it does not provide the necessary wheel protection for street road conditions, such as potholes. We have not heard of anybody having issues with the 235/40/18 Michelin PSS with the 18x8.5" ET45 ARC-8, but the 18x8.5" ET38 will require negative camber to properly clear the front fenders.

That customer is using the 18x8.5" ET45 and 18x9.5" ET62 with Toyo R888 tires in 225/40/18 and 265/35/18, and he understood that the rear tire would cause problems with that tire size in the rear with this particular tire. He did in fact have rubbing issues with the rear fenders, requiring modifications to the fenders in order for the rears to clear. The Toyo R888's run much wider than a normal tire, approximately one full size up from a typical street tire, so we would recommend the 255/35/18 Toyo R888 if you are looking to use a similar setup as those tires have about the same amount of tire width as a 265/35/18 street tire, and it also reduces the need of major fender rolling or negative camber in the rear. Depending on the ride height your car is at, there may be a need for a slight fender roll, but in most cases the rear wheels with 255/35/18 Toyo R888's don't have any fitment issues.

Not a problem, changed it for you! What are your alignment settings, and how much fender modification did you do to fit those tires in the rear?

F: 255/35-18 PSS -3.5 deg camber, removed bumper screw in fender and ground down support. Stock quarter panels, no roll, koni shocks (thinner), no spacer, stock wishbones
R: 275/35-18 PSS -1.8 deg camber

Other settings were all same as stock.

F: 255/35-18 AD08, -3.5 to 0 camber w/ER widebody kit, M3 wishbones
R: 285/30-18 AD08, -1.5 camber, no toe (rubs front inside at 1/16" toe when the suspension is extended)

Zero fender modification. I have a thread somewhere on the forums with a few pics of this fitting.

Next up is a new set of Arc 8's 9.5" all around
F: e35 +3mm Spacer, 285/30-18 AD08 + ER Widebody, M3 wishbones
R: e62 285/30-18 AD08

I'm not sure if the front will fit yet, but it's worth a shot.
