My first BMW!
Finally got a decent job, saved the money, traded in the Honda Civic and got myself a real car! 2008 135i Sedona Red with Black interior. Picture is from the dealer yesterday when I got it. Mods soon to come!

Congrats on the car. Your friend over there looks a bit shy though "No pictures!"

Wow, that's terrible. But if it's not totaled, that's a good excuse to slap on some vented fenders/hood and a 1M or BMW-P bumper...

Most insurance companies will let you do it, as long as the cost is the same or less. Or you can top up if you want something expensive. Especially if you go for the BMW Performance parts, which are available from your dealer.
Schmiedmann has a cool set of vented fenders. And one guy just did a 1M conversion with insurance money.

A simple, "Are you ok?" was have been a little more acceptable in my eyes than "My bad dude." And then when I asked for his phone number and information he didn't say anything, walked away and waited for his daddy to show up. Neither of them would say a word to me.

Yeah, I've been in a couple of accidents where the other person was on the phone with the police/insurance/husband before even saying a word to me. I know you're not supposed to talk to the other person due to the risk of saying something self-incriminating, but I feel like you could at least say things like "are you OK?" and "hey, I'm just calling my insurance company so that they can tell me what to do next"...

I'm just trying to stay positive and hoping that it's not totaled. If it's not I'm going to look into getting the 1M kit or at least the bumper / fenders... as well as matt black grills and hood. :P I hit him sooo square on the side that all of my glass is in-tacked. They gave me an over the phone appraisal of 28k for the car.. I don't think the damage is going to cost that.. 15k tops from the looks of it. Lets just hope the frame and engine is fine!

BMW Performance front bumper ($500ish) BMW Performance side skirts ($500ish) CF vented hood ($700ish) M3-style fenders from Schmiedmann ($800ish) Upgraded FMIC, since yours was probably damaged ($700ish) Aftermarket wheels of your choice (add in the cost of paint) Overall, I think you might actually end up spending less this way. Come to think of it, it sounds like you're getting a great opportunity to do mods for which the rest of us have to pay full price.

I am sorry this has happened to you. If it was me personally I wouldn't want to be modifying a car that has been in a wreck bc in the end when it comes to sell that car will show up that it had a wreck and will be harder to sell. I would try to get it totaled for more than you payed for it then modify on that solid base. Claim also your taxes you probably recently paid on the car and make sure their insurance puts you in no less than a cadillac for a rental. Just my two cents.
