Brembo Upgrades for 135i?
Ok, bit of a brake noob, stick with me.
the 135i has Brembo 6 piston calipers up front and 4 piston calipers in back... rotors are 338x26mm in the front and rear 324x22mm... Why are there no direct replacement rotors from Brembo available in cross drilled and/or slotted set up? am i missing something? also, who has done cross drilled and/or slotted rotors and can report as to whether or not they improve/worsen braking performance? |

I believe the rears are 2 piston.
There are plenty of replacement rotors by other manufacturers. I'm running slotted discs on my rear. It makes no difference. |

There brembo rotors available as you describe...it's the bmw perf rotors. Now if you're asking about floating 2 piece rotors, that's a different story. There's a side of brembo that makes oem stuff (like our calipers and braking setup) and then there's the brembo race/perf side. Essentially they're under one hat, but act as two separate companies. Thats what I was told by the US importer of brembo race products at least.

not even worth upgrading to cross-drilled or slotted rotors unless you're going for looks. they won't offer any performance advantage plus they cost way more than factory provided discs. want to improve braking performance, start with pads and fluid and once you pass their limit on the track move to a BBK
