How do you film that though, I'm just curious, and wonder what that looks like to other drivers. I take it you're loving your 135is? So few "is" owners out there, always interested to get people's thoughts/impressions after owning and living with them for a bit. |

I am, however, dealing with some annoying little quirks. The satellite radio was broken when I bought it, so that was a 3-day fix. Then, with 2,800 miles, the brake pad warning came on, so I had to take it in to get reset. Now, the coolant warning light is on for no reason, so I have to drop it off tomorrow night. Sort of annoying, but the sound and performance of that car make me forget all the reliability problems that are inevitably coming. It was just filmed with a GoPro suctioned to the back bumper. |

And apparently the world had launched an attack on my car, cause after getting a new bumper, diffuser, etc., 1 month later some jerk who never even looked, pulled out 5 feet in front of me while I was cruising down a major street and bam, $26k in damage to my old 135. Still miss that car and so with the special 135is and perhaps the last year of the 135 (nobody knows for sure apparently if there will be a 2014 one), I'm getting my 135is and righting the wrongs of yesteryear. |

But that's awesome that you're getting an IS. I had a bitch of a time finding one, but it's by far the best car I've had. Not nearly as nice on the inside as my old Infinitis, but it's just endless fun to drive. Hope you're getting the DTC. It's addicting. The secret launch control is a nice touch, too. |

Definitely got the DTC as the manual isn't even an option as my left wrist is pretty much destroyed from the airbag blowing open on it in the accident. I don't know anything about this "secret" launch control though. Do share. I just learned the other day we can also get them coded/programmed by people with the right equipment to have a digital speedo in the center of the instrument cluster, too, which normally I'd say big whoop, but my S5 has it and i'm addicted to it. Feels like I'm driving K.I.T.T. or something from knight rider, only it doesn't talk to me. Counting down the days til mine gets here. I'm predicting April 27, just waiting for a boat (if it's even at the port). |

2 rumors I've heard, though. It apparently does not activate until the car has 1,500 miles, and the computer tracks the number of times it's done. Maybe for warranty purposes if you shred the clutch after 2,000 miles. Either way, have fun, man. The car likes to be driven like a bastard. |

Oh, I remember what driving the car is like. I would always tell people, it's not ME...the car MADE me do it. I can't explain it but it really feels like the car forces you to and makes you drive faster. After I had mine for a couple of months, i finally named it while driving down to San Diego right by aliso viejo. The freeway was backing up and that carpool lane was wide open. The car MADE ME go into that carpool lane alone, and I was doing 90 for about 30 miles. It was so wrong, yet somehow felt SO RIGHT! I then named her...Eva The Misbehava cause she made me do bad things. Like a devil on your shoulder. Will try to keep it in check with the new one. |

Eva the misbehava. Haha well done. Still don't have a name yet, and with only 2700 miles in three months, I'm still not used to the car yet.

Alas, not sure what to call the new one. Eva The Misbehava was the last one and not sure if it's wrong if I call the new one Eva Jr. I'm also superstitious and don't want her suffering the same fate. New one should look much meaner since mineral grey and has some blacked out "is" accents compared to the silver normal 135 that literally had no options on it. Will think of something, or maybe it'll just hit me one day as it did with Eva.
So, one day you may experience an extremely illegal act where you are an innocent victim that your car MAKES you do and you'll come up with a name, or see it in a certain light and BAM, it'll hit you. What's a mean German woman's name, someone who could be a model, but also take someone out back and beat the crap out of them if need be. Hmm. Homework assignment. |

Damn, I liked Sabine, too off that list. I'll have to do some extensive research and figure out some options.
I'm guessing Adolfine should be eliminated as well as I reckon that would offend just about everyone. |

Ooh, mineral grey! Looking goooooooood lier! Not sure what that white stuff is, but stunning. Of course I'm biased since my mineral grey 135is will be here in a few weeks.
Hope the weather clears up for you so you can enjoy it. Congrats! Last edited by gregthegr8; 03-19-2013 at 09:22 AM.. |
