angel eye upgrade
i want to upgrade my headlight housings to angel eyes. i would like to go with LED. there are alot of options out there, i see alot of different styles on ebay, one even comes with the HID upgrade. what do you guys suggest for me?? are the ebay ones poor quality?? if i don't do the HID upgrade, can i still get LED halos?? i imagine so but i'm not really familiar about what different combo's are possible. my car came factory with just plain old halogen headlight housings, no angel eyes. here's what i'm looking at on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-13-E82-E8...#ht_7203wt_917 http://www.ebay.com/itm/121095838478...#ht_3392wt_917 http://www.ebay.com/itm/130858815643...#ht_6774wt_917 http://www.ebay.com/itm/300774780335...#ht_7203wt_917 i really like the last one with the LED strip over the top.....but please make some suggestions for me. i want to avoid codes popping up in the dash as well. |

Would love to add those last headlights to my halogen-only 128i.
I wonder if they are really plug and play like the description states. In watching the video, there is a bit of messing around with cables and stuff, not what I would really call plug-and-play. |

Hey i was one of the ones who swapped to Depo housings with upgraded angel eyes(no longer necessary on v2 models) and HID's. Here's the Depo thread where i've condensed all of the above information in more detail.

people make it sound worse than it is. it takes me about 15 minutes to get my bumper off by myself, it's not very hard what so ever. there's three screws in each wheel well, four on top of the bumper and 8 or 9 on the bottom. I've taken mine off several times.

cool, i actually have been wanting to have my front bumper repainted cuz there's a few spider cracks in the paint on the lower corners, and some small imperfections from road debri. it could use some TLC. maybe i'll do the front end all at once, headlights and bumper re-painted. right now concentrating on performance mods, i think this winter sounds like a good time for this job.
thanks for the info, i'll pickup a set of the DEPO V2's in the meantime so i have them ready to go when the time comes, split the cost up a little bit. i may even do a different front bumper, we'll see!! |

Sounds like a solid plan! If you do get it repainted look into getting it wrapped with that invisible vinyl stuff i can't remember the name of to protect your $ on the bumper!
