Loaner car from GTA dealerships
This is my first scheduled service at 24k, I guess oil change is the only one included, and I needed to do some other things to be done at the dealer. BTW, it's Budds BMW. I spoke to the rep and he told me there's $25 charge on a loaner vehicle. I used to drive Lexus and whenever I brought the car for service, loaner was free of charge. Is the dealer trying to rip me off on this? Well.. $25 is not alot, but I was wondering this happens at all the dealerships in Canada?
Another question is that my exhaust tips' painting has been peeled off a bit. Did anyone have experience of getting them replaced under warranty? Here's the picture of my exhaust tips.

25$!?
Hi there. I have never been charged for a loaner, whether it was a Kia soul or a 335d. Not sure if this is the same with all dealerships but mine did not charge me a cent!

I pay nothing and I always get to chose what vehicle I want. The only thing I pay for is gas. If I get the loaner with 3/4 full tank, I have to return it with 3/4 full tank. Otherwise they charge me $4.85 per gallon!

Mine used to charge nothing as well, but since the end of last year ... they started charging a $20 admin fee for loaners.

I have never paid for loaners, however I think some owners abuse the use of a loaner so I can see dealers starting to charge a nominal amount. I also think no loaner fee should be charged for regularily scheduled maintenance work or warranty work on your regular driver.
However, I also don't think you are "entitled" to the same car or better as a loaner. If you get that, good for you, but it is not your "right" as some seem to think.

Thanks for your inputs. I booked an appointment with a loaner. I'll just pay $25 this time, but will try a different dealer, maybe Maranello. Just to make it exact, the Budds rep said they charge $25 for its customers, meaning who bought their cars at Budds, and charge $35 for non-customers. And he also said BMW Canada doesn't cover the cost of loaner cars. Not sure if it only applies to regular maintenance or any warranty work.
Anyone with the same issue on the exhaust tips?

My dealer didn't do it last year, but started this year. This is what they write in their email:
Please note: if you have requested to have a loaner or rental vehicle -You must be 25 yrs of age or older. -You must present a valid driver's license and credit card. -Service administration fee $20.00 per day. -A $150.00 security deposit pre-authorization will be taken at the time the loaner agreement is printed to ensure credit card validity. From Parkview BMW, therefore probably applies to Toronto BMW and Waterloo BMW.
