Lci Black Lines Led Rear lights question
I just ordered a 128i w/ Xenon.
I been looking around to see what I can buy for my new car I saw the LCI Blacklines and they look like they would be awesome on my new 2013 128i. Does anyone know if BMW sells these and would install at the port or whatever or do I need to order them somewhere and have a certified bmw place to install to no ruin warrenty? |

You would need the euro part number to order them from BMW but no need there's a couple websites you can order them from one for sure is ecs tuning and the other one is sheildman (not sure on spelling tho check google). But both those places sell them and will ship anywhere. Install is easy. There are several DIYs. Only takes 20min.

Very doubtful. It's an oem part your replacing with another oem part. Blacklines are not aftermarket. It's a genuine BMW part even from the websites that sell them. That's the only place they can get em from is BMW. Not make them on their own

The Blacklines are an Euro only part. They do not have(or meet) DOT(Dept of Transportation) specs - so your local BMW dealer can not order these parts.
Fortunately we have the internet and there are plenty of places to order the Blacklines from. Schiederman.de is one such place. You want to order the #282 Blackline kit. With this ket you get both right and left tails with new gaskets. BMW p/n 63212225282 You will not need anything else for them to work. These tail lights are for Xenon cars (w/led rear tail lights) but they also work fine on Halogen cars too. Schmiedermann's current price is $325 for the pair plus shipping. You might have to fill out a US customs form... and fax it to FedEx before you get your lights. But not everyone has to do this. The only thing to be careful about on the install is not to over tighten the nuts that hold the tail lights in place. And also to make sure you get the trunk water gasket back on correctly. Some 1Addicts have had water issues after the install. But... its fairly straight forward install. You could always have your dealer do it too - for very little money I would think. I ordered from here:
http://www.schmiedmann.com/632122252...uctnumber.aspx I installed myself, once I got the correct tools and understood what I was doing it took 10 min per light maybe a bit more but very easy. That coming from someone who has not done much work to my car. Also the price isnt too bad. I havnt taken it in for service but I dont think it would be an issue.

It's a super easy install--as stated, couple of plugs and making sure the gasket is good. I'm not a DIYer but I had no issues with it after just watching a quick video on youtube.
And if you're paranoid and do have an issue with the tails in particular, you can always swap the originals back in before you go have them looked at. But it's not like your dealer is looking for a reason to void your warranty anyway. I ordered mine from Schmiedmann and had to do a couple customs forms for FedEx but there are cheat sheets online--ended up being no problem..

Do you happen to remember where you found the cheat sheets or how you searched? I have searched using the form number but no luck yet. |

Just picked up my Canadian 2013 135i M Sport Edition and it comes with the LCI Blacklines.
Probably much easier and cheaper to order them from Canada than Europe. |

HS7 Form: I just wrote "BMW OEM TAIL LIGHTS" in description box, checked 2A, put my address in the declarant/importer addresses down below, and wrote "INDIVIDUAL - FOR PERSONAL USE" in the declarant's capacity box. Importer ID (Dept of Homeland Sec): I just filled out as an individual--SS# in 2B, name in 3, check individual in 6, address details in 7-15 and sign/date at bottom.
