I would also replace your water pump and thermostat.
What about your brakes and tires?

From what I've seen with the failure rate on water pumps with the N52, I'll be replacing mine every 40k-50k miles. Apparently Bentley skipped us and the best plan is to just use the E9x manual as we part share so heavily.

IF you need new rotors you should also replace your brake pads and wear sensor(s). The water pump (& thermostat) should be under $500. Dackel

My policy has always been...
Every 100,000 miles replace every bushing, bearing, and ball joint on the car to keep it driving like new. Since the non M parts are so squishy, good chance to upgrade them to M parts effectively for free. Idlers/tensioners/pulleys/belts and the entire cooling system (radiator, thermostat, water pump, pipes, expansion tank) to keep it as reliable as new. And if you really don't want to risk a breakdown, since filters are replaceable anymore... fuel pump. Spark plugs are an inspection 2 item, imo, so unless you happen to be coming up on that for the second time as well, I'd skip it. Same with diff and trans fluid. Though, that assumes you haven't been skipping those things until now... Sending the fuel injectors off for a rebuild is cheap and probably not a terrible idea at 100,000. Likely at least partially clogged by now. I haven't seen any instances of leaky valve cover gaskets on the N52 yet, but it's pretty hard to imagine it going to 200,000 without leaks... so I might do that too, while everything was getting done (along with the ones for the bolts that hold it down and around the spark plugs). Pre cat 02s to keep the engine running as efficiently as possible. Every 100,000 miles is the most expensive time in a BMW's life if you want to keep it driving like, and being as reliable as, a new car. Do all that and you should be nicely locked down till 200,000 with just fluid changes

Suspension bushings and shocks should be considered too. |

On the NA car's the spark plugs are good for 100K miles. I would have had them changed a long time ago IF it were my car. For turbocharged models BMW says every 45K miles. I would half those mileage recommendations IF it were my car.

Yeah, 100,000 seems super optimistic for spark plugs to me. I'd say inspection 2 item. Part of "free maintainance" cost minimization, IMO. Before free maintainance, they were an inspection 1 item, I believe.

My car is currently at 181xxxkm -
I've done spark plugs, coolant flush, cai, 2012 linear sport shocks and springs and new strut mounts as well as wheels and tires. Also I use motul for all the fluids including transmission and brakes. It needs so much more work which I'm putting off until after winter to do it all at once. It's probably a good 6,000$ in maintenance/mods if I do it all at once :$ |

As for the springs, can't understand why someone would go through all the trouble of replacing crappy OEM progressive springs for marginally less crappy OEM linear springs.

Lol relax forum police. I use this on my phone you know what I meant.
My 128i didn't come with the sport package. Anddd my car had 175km on it when I did the swap and I got the parts off a forum member for cheap! It was more maintenance than performance. You're all so wound up, go for a drive. Take your car to a track. Do something fun. Relax. |
