Buying new 128i with 2012/11 production date - is it a good idea ??
So I found a 2013 128i at a couple of dealers with this manufacturing date.
Even though it is new car, its been standing in the dealer lot for a best part of one year with not much miles. How does this affect any part of the car. Especially the battery since that won't be covered under warranty ?? Should I buy ?? Last edited by sid21177; 11-02-2013 at 06:02 PM.. |

Should not be a problem, and even if there were one, you have full warranty coverage. When I swapped my 2012 135i DCT for a 2012 135i 6MT, the 6MT one had been in dealer inventory just over 12 months. No problems.

Compared to an ordered car which does not sit on the lot more than a few days, the hubs start to rust and the battery definitely suffers. The warranty will never address these issues.

I would look @ edmunds MSRP and Invoice and decide if it's a fair offer.
The best price is one that you are happy paying. |

Many years ago, TVR stopped selling cars in this country. 2 or 3 years later, the local Dodge/TVR dealer still had some new TVR's on the lot. I test drove one. When I asked what model year it was, they said "whatever year you buy it, that's the model year we put on it." Should have bought it - I might have had the country's only TVR of that model year!
