I would think the paint is completely cured since its baked with infrared light right after the paint is electrostatically deposited on the car.

So, it basically froze like hell in Texas a few months back. The ice surrounded my car like 1 entire inch.
I had to leave for work and used a rubber ice scraper, which is not suppose to leave any scratches. However, today I noticed that there are some white "smudges" around my car. I felt them with my hand and they do not feel or look deep. Can I clay it out with a clay bar, or do I need to polish? Any recommendations?

^ It doesn't look like a job for clay, but a mild polish... I'd start with the least abrasive cleaner and carefully proceed from there.

Yeah, that's what think... Something simple like Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax might do the trick.

Hi guys! Bought a 2012 Deep Sea Blue E82 and to my unfortunate, the paint is in my OCD eyes very bad. I was thinking of wet sanding to get rid also of the horrible orange peel that is present or just very abbrasive compound and MF pads (Menzerna FG400 and others?) and then I'd like a polish that would give the paint a very deep gloss. However, the problem is that I have never done machine polishing. Over the week I've read a lot of reviews, how-to's and watched videos so I know the theory. Larry @ ammonyc recommends the Griots DA and MF pads which even works for removing wet sand shit.
Here are some photos. Most likely the car had seen only automatic car washes. The white dots are stone chips, so touch up-ing will be needed. As well as there. There are so many products to choose from that I'm totally lost. Oh, is there any wheel cleaner that does not remove sealant?

you probably won't need wetsanding for that most of it should be removed by compound and polishing.
here is a great kit. Griot's Garage Swirl Remover Kit You may need a microfiber pad to get some of the deeper scratches out. |

on the bottom pieces where it shows white if its a scratch you may need to repaint if its a scuff it should come off. same with some of the white scratches on the wheel arch. |

Touch up done right looks fine. But doing it right takes alot of time per chip. Sanding using the pencil method, filling in with the touch up paint, leveling out by wetsanding, and buffing |

Hi Detailers Domain,
I have a brand new mineral gray 135i that I would like to take good care of. Could you please recommend me products for the following tasks? My priorities are, in this order -- longevity of the application, protection for the paint, ease of use/application, and lastly looks. Car wash soap Clay bar and spray Very mild polish (paint is brand new) and appropriate pads for velcro-backed orbital buffer Glaze/finish for maximum protection/longevity wax wash mit wheel cleaner wheel wax interior cleaner for BMW faux leather microfibers for buffing/drying Also, any discount codes currently? |

Ever use "Krown salt eliminator" on interior carpet?
If not, do you have any recommendations on salt removal from interiors?
