Generally, if it can fit the front it can fit the rear no issue.

I have owned and raced on about 9 sets of Enkei RPF1 wheels over the years, and Never had a problem with them.

I spoke to APEX about that and there general impression is that rear fitment was where the fitment problems are, given our funky rear offset.

As far as outer clearance goes theres a lot less of it up front than in the rear. |

IMHO, a lot more people should be looking into running that setup. Cheap tires, better ride, better chassis balance, etc. |

I'm not worried about the width, I'm worried about the placement of that width. I refuse to roll my fenders.

Sorry, database funkiness.
I'm not rolling as it is a long term DD in a region that sees a good bit of salt every winter. Rolling stretches the paint and breaks the bond with the metal underneath. I do not want rust. I certainly hope they see this and make them. Every time I've spoken with them though, they seem resistant to the idea.

I tried capturing how tight the front is when I first got the wheels, its not great but it gives you an idea - clearance in the rear is about the same as stock (but a little more on the aggressive side) |

If you're not willing to dial up the ride height a bit to eliminate any slight rub in the front you're having (if you even have any)... run 235s in wider-running tires, or select tires that are true 245s. |

I'm not raising the car. It is at the ideal ride height. I'm looking for a wheel that lets me run 245 square track tires with a 1" drop and a bit of negative camber in the front with a bit less in the rear. It isn't an extreme request. I really want APEX to deliver that, but currently it isn't in the lineup.

Also, look in the 17" tack wheel thread, 135i, 17x8.5 ARCs, 245 tires in the rear, no added camber over stock. No rubbing in the rear. I personally have run a 17x8.5, ET40 245/40 HTRZIII, again, no rubbing in the rear. Also ran ET50 with a 12mm spacer and a 245/40, just to test...again...wait for it...no rubbing. I bet your extra camber from running a bit lower actually helps you fit them, rather than hurts you. -2 up front is PLENTY to run a 245. Stop being obtuse. It's popular, it works. A 17x8.5, ET40 will give you just that. You just can't keep ignoring that people use this setup successfully, without a roll, and claim to be disappointed that you can't.

This issue of fitting 245/40/17 on the ET40 rear rims, will probably come down to tire choice. If you talk about track tires I would be thinking of Toyo R888 as minimum. If you want a proper semi slick for circuit use, eg Yokohama A050, I seriously doubt that will fit on the rear 17x8.5 ET40 without rolling the fenders. On the other hand if your idea of a wide track tire is a Dunlop ZII star spec, or Hankook RS-3, then with 2.0 rear camber and stock fenders 245/40/17 will probably be ok.
