BMR N54 DPs
Hi all,
excited to announce we have arranged a limited run of stainless steel 3" N54 Catless Downpipes that are 100% perfect fitment for RHD vehicles. Suitable for N54 equipped 135s, 335s and 1Ms. The downpipes are priced at $695 inc GST with free shipping in Aus. If you're looking to get them installed in Sydney, Pete at Advan has vouched for these being the best fitting N54 DPs so far, so much so that the install would be 10% cheaper than 'usual' downpipes as they are easier and faster to install ($450 v $495) We only have two sets in stock at the moment, but 5 more sets arriving shortly. After that (and gauging interest) we can see if it's worthwhile adding these to the BMR lineup permenantly. Naturally these are for off road use only. You can order >>> here <<< Some pictures: |

Those look really high quality. Have you considered a high flow catted version or does this not yield worthwhile results?

I'm eager to put DP in my car but want to know if I'll hear the turbos spooling in everyday driving. At the moment I can only hear their whine when I get stick in, which is the way I like it. I've got an N54. Everything else in the exhaust is stock.

I've got catless DPs but my turbos are quite noisy too, but I hear turbo whine at any and all speeds. Sounds like there's always a cop on my tail.

I personally didn't notice turbo whine when I put DPs in my car, but did notice more exhaust noise.. similar effect when going from std airbox to open cold air intake...

Great fabrication and fit. Stuart or Peter at Advan can tell you what to expect re power increase, but I suspect a free flow exhaust and other mods are required to get the best out of them as would be the case for any good dump pipes. It would be unusual to do a before and after dyne test for just dump pipes...Advan or Southern BM would know.

I did it with my RB, but that was back in the day when low mounts weren't quite on the cusp of making the same power. For a street car a twin setup beats a single IMO. |

advan seem like the guys to do it. I'd trust them with my car again, only thing is they're 3 hrs away from me, so with overnight accommodation it becomes less cost effective unless i'm already going to sydney for something...
time to find another reason or 2 to go to sydney i guess... |

Hey all so about a month on now from having these bad boys installed and
1. Start-up noise much louder but softens quite quickly 2. I can hear the turbo(s) spooling at higher revs which I personally find satisfying. It’s still not too loud though 3. The sound when you punch it just makes you want to keep doing it! 4. Dyno numbers are a slight improvement with the proceed 5. The acceleration is probably the most noticeable gain, really comes into play. Overall, I’m pleased and the guys at advan have done it again. I’m going to really need to look into getting some more and better rear rubber but….. |
