08 135i sport front suspension woes
Need some input on what to change. I think my front suspension is crap, it bottoms out one undercarrige when I go over high speed bumps. Not sure if i should be looking at the strut or spring , can you guys help?

any noises when hitting a bump on one corner? Might be worth jacking up at corner, take wheel off and just look for leaks on the damper. They get real bouncy if you blow one.

Could be failing shocks. How many miles are on the car? Might be time to think about Koni yellows!

BMW suspension on the 1 series doesn't have much travel, so you will always hit the bump stops no matter what.
Decent shocks will help a bit though. I would also get a M3 front sway bar to help add body control for road use while maintaining the stock comfort level. The sway bar adds stiffness that can actually make the car ride better over potholes. If you concern about handling, the rear subframe bushings need attention too but unfortunately that costs some more $$. |

I have the full front and rear M3 arms (stiffer bushings and less deflection), solid subframe bushings, moton shocks and swift springs that are more than 3 times stiffer than stock at the front and twice as stiff in the rear and the car is more comfortable with the shocks set to soft than with the M-sport suspension. True story.
