Reputable shops in NY area?
I recently purchased a 2009 135i that was modded by the previous owner. He told me about current mods (catless DPs & meisterchaft midpipe), and through conversation immediately prior to purchasing I found out about previous mods that had been installed and removed (JB4, intake).
I've had a CEL ever since I purchased the car, but attributed it to the catless DPs. There was a HPFP fault that the previous owner's dealer said they couldn't diagnose fully unless the catless DPs were removed to rule that out as the cause. I've had issues with rough idle, stumbling in low gears (1st and 2nd), and poor gas mileage that are getting worse, and suspect the injectors to be the culprit. The car has an aftermarket warranty on it, but I don't want to take it to BMW until all mods that they or the warranty provider can use against me to deny claims are removed. I plan on purchasing stock DPs and swapping them out. When I had the PPI done by a tuner shop local to the previous owner, the mechanic said something about extra O2 sensors. I didn't really understand what he was saying due to his very heavy accent and my limited mechanical knowledge. I would like to have a mechanic who is experienced with the 135 to take a look at it and tell me exactly what's under the car and what I need to have swapped back to stock. Do any of you know of any reputable shops in the NY area where I can have this done? Thanks! Last edited by febul; 10-04-2014 at 12:37 PM.. |

OMGmotosports and Vinny Ten Racing are both on LI(westbabylon/lindenhurst area) and are both fantastic shops. I go to VTR for any major work i can't do and i have a few buddies who go to OMGmotosports and they speak very highly of them.

OMG is in Farmingdale and they are very very good. They won't let you out the door until you have exactly what you were looking for.
