E90 Scores Excellent in German Crash Tests (including Videos)

Good to know that we're safe in our E90's!

Here's the link to the crash test results:

Here's the link to the crash test videos. Interesting to see all the various airbags deploy. (Need Internet Explorer to watch the video).

Thanks.

Gotta luv the translation under "Crash Test Results: Protection for Children":

"For both children fair a Bimbo was used . . . "

Also, safety results look good for those inside the e90, but woe be the poor pedestrian that I whack while playing with my radio . . .

I was impressed when I read in the BMW Technology magazine that in the 40 MPH offset head-on collision, the windshield was not even cracked. I guess with such a long hood to accomodate the inline 6, there is a lot more crumple zone to protect the passengers.

Happened to do a search for crash test and this came up. Pretty awesome to know we're all well protected.

It breaks me heart to see an E90 all smashed up like that, but it guess it's all in the name of safety. It's good to know the car is so safe. Let's just hope we never have to worry about any of this.

By the way, what's up with that front rim? If you watch it closely enough, it looks like the rim explodes...like there's just a plastic hub cap on the tire. Is that the actual aluminium rim?

The bottom of the range wheel in Europe is a steel wheel with a plastic hubcap. Thats the one used on the crash test car
