Everything was good. I did have a small water leak by the coolant aluminum pipe that was cause from old gasket. I ordered a bunch of new gaskets and o rings. I took the entire set up apart to now wrap all of the piping. Will be back together after I get parts maybe next week. It's been too cold to work on the car. |

Bro, make sure you keep up posted on this... I posted your thread in a local Bimmer group on FB and there were a couple of haters, which there obviously will be.... Keep up the great work, I hope you put down some really good numbers with this!
What was your solution to get rid of the OEM boost solenoids and incorporate and external WG? Also what did you do about reducing the 02 sensors from 4 to 2?

Hahahahha please direct message me a link to see what people are chatting up. For the wastegate control I've seen some people using the stock boost controller. Problem with that is if they go bad they stay open or closed don't remember. If this happens the boost set point will basically be unlimited. (Not good) I used a Mac solenoid witch is the rebadge aem. This unit splices into any of the wires used for the stock ones. As long as the piggy back supports it. As far as 02 sensors. What some people may not know on this car is that there are 4 sensors. One on each bank so basically a 02 per every 3 cylinders. The trick with this is to place then before all pipes merge to the turbo for the first two. The second set I placed them further down on the down pipe. These are just to check on flow of air. I placed the sensors around the same distance from the cylinders as they where in stock form. |

Just got this little baby in the mail. I will be flashing and also removing some features. I will post of some more pics later.
For flash I've contacted wedge and he is very familiar with flashing these cars and very knowledgeable when it comes to these things. |

Hey bro, I'll invite you too the facebook group, it's called Bimmer Alliance. It would be great for you to bring your knowledge to the group. There's a lot of parrots and what I like to call Minions in there. It's like a cult, and anyone that tries something not following in the footsteps of the one before him is shunned! LOL

I took the entire thing apart to used new o rings and ect. I took the time to wrap the entire exhaust manifold. Also did notice the down pipe was leaking in one spot so fixed that up. I drove the car around today. I'm currently running a ST firmware on the procede. I have not had the DME flashed yet so I'm being very careful of pushing or boosting with the car. To top it off I have a CEL light that I need to figure out. I don't know if it's because the DME hasent been flashed or not. I will keep you guys posted. Ill probably read the DME next weekend. And I will be 1 step closer to getting her on the dyno |

Awesome build man! Any pictures of the manifold off of the car?
Just my $.02: that .64 turbine housing may be a bit small for the n54. On this particular turbo, i have used a .82 on 4 cylinders without excessive lag. Curious to see what the powerband is like, just would be concerned for tuning issues. Small hotside can cause higher EGTs, more backpressure in the manifold which makes it more prone to knock. Looking forward to seeing progress and results from a local! |

Car spools very low. Start building boost at around 2000 rpm. I have an egt gauge to monitor temps. I haven't turned up the boost but so far so good. |

No, the backpressure comment was pre-turbo. Meaning in the manifold. The smaller hotside will peak tq early but run out of breathe and get real hot up top.

Any estimated time on when you plan to hit the dyno?

Sorry to bring back an old thread to life again but I'm planning on doing my own single turbo build and got some good ideas and feedback from this thanks, my buddy welds performance parts for a living so he's going to build me the manifold, dump tube and downpipe when the time comes. He's build everything from custom roll cages, manifolds and even body panels.
