Birds B1 Suspension Owners
Hello everyone,
I wanted to see if we had any members over in Germany that are currently running Birds B1 Suspension on their 1'er? I'm currently out for the next 5 months but I'd love a chance to meet up and buy you lunch for a chance to ride in your 1'er. I've been researching and I was thinking of taking the opportunity to get a well matched suspension setup but I'd like to catch a ride in one that has already done so. If there is anyone that will still be around Germany after December of this year that would like to meet up, I'd be more than willing to buy ya lunch to compensate you : ) Cheers! |

I'm not from Germoney, but I believe there is no one running Birds suspension outside UK. It is pretty much not known everywhere else than UK I think. It seems to be a hell of a kit, though, specifically made for British roads which are apparently as bad as in my country. However, for me it is too expensive!

Seems fair. I just like a well put together non adjustable suspension, especially since the 135 ain't my track car. If no one has one then I'll take a RyanAir flight over and see if I can't talk with the Birds people : )

First time i've heard of this suspension. Got any details? I'm up in Stuttgart and some of the guys on this page are also in Wiesbaden too. My suspension is TC Kline though.
If you have any details of the suspension you are mentioning please share some details or a link. Also please share some pics of your E30 M3. Is it US or German specs?

Birds suspensions use Bilstein shocks that are custom valved for typical UK roads. They're kinda expensive, but they get nothing but praise on British forums. I'd be all over it had it been cheaper.

Thanks Swagon! It's certainly an option, despite not being well known. It's supple but the man seems to have the level of knowledge to work out a perfect DD set-up. I want strong bushings, valve matched dampers, springs to match it all and ARBs to match. I may meet up with some more 1er owners and see how their setups feel
As for the E30, she's over in the states now but she is US spec ; ) |
