Where do you guys put your change?

My old car had a nice nickel, dime, and quarter slots in the center console where I could put my change. Now I put my quarters in the ashtray but they keep jiggling around when I make my turns. What?!? I got a BMW--I gotta corner hard!

Are there any nice change holders (with coin specific slots or something to prevent the coins from moving) that would fit inside the ashtray or even the center console? I know someone on this board is into making fiberglass molds and stuff, but I just want a simple off-the-shelf solution.

Somebody mentioned putting your change in the slit that appears on your sport seats for the thigh/leg adjustment/extension.

Yeah, I don't think so. I Lexol-ed the seats within the first week of ownership so I don't think I'll be putting my dirty change in the seat cracks there. A novel idea, though!

there's a few slots inside the center console, but that holds hardly nothing. there's currently a few pennies in the center slot where the i-drive knob would be.

what about the useless cupholder in the center console? once the lid is closed it should be pretty quiet.

This was the main reason I took out the ashtray and replaced it with the eyeglass tray...for change and stuff!

I don't keep change in my car unless it's in someone's purse or fanny pack. I had a dime get stuck in the seat track and had a hard time getting it out. Made lots of noice sliding back and forth. I just really don't like the sound change makes in a car.

I have 4 quarters in those little slots under the armrest. The rest of my change is usually in the ash tray (though it does make a bit of noise at times).

Go to Wal-Mart or your local drugstore and buy a plastic change holder. They are usually black and cost $1-2. They will have a slot for quarters, dimes, and nickels. It will fit very nice in that big map pocket on the driver's door. In fact, if you stick your hand in there, you will find that the map pocket is sectioned. The change holder will fit in two areas. It will fit in the back and front sections of the map pocket. Do not put it in the middle because it too will roll around. For me, I think the best spot is in the front only because I did encounter a time or two where I heard it bang around when I had it in the back section. Since putting it in the front section, no problems!

Here is a picture of what they look like ...

You can see the change holder. Disregard the rest of the picture, I have no idea what that is, but at least you can see what I am talking about.
