I am not certain, but wintertuning or someone else has a stage 1 and stage 2 description, they both deal with the air pipe too.
Could just be an intake, but worth noticing if the pipe at the thottle body is restricted vs 130i Also more info on the ECU software that you have from 130i

But this is different to the 1st stage, where a 125i can be tunned into a 130i only through software. I was looking for the references in REALOEM and the intake manifold and the entire engine ones are exactly the same in both models: 125i Engine: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...g=05&lang=enUS 130i Engine: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...g=05&lang=enUS 125i Intake manifold: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...g=40&lang=enUS 130i Intake manifold: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...g=40&lang=enUS Best regards. |

3rd stage is them asking you to do exhaust, prob not worth it. if 125i truly has same size pipe from airbox to intake manifold then all is well. But intakes in our cars add good value as permanent charcoal filter is restrictive

A short bump up to the thread just to say I'm really happy with my tuned 125i. More than 2 years ago, it delivered ~260/270cv on the dyno. I've finally made the tuning with BND Unlimited, in Spain. But it was very hard... The RSA protection included in the ECU's software made us swear for several months until they finally were able...

Over at e90post, hassmaschine and I have been working on 3-stage tunes for the x25i and x28i cars. Successfully built a WinKFP flashable RSA-bypass and have files that should turn a 125i into a 130i and a 128i into a 130i. Will be released for free shortly.

Interesting - so to make sure I understand this, you would be installing the BMW factory map into the 125i or 128i ECU?

For the US, a factory 130i flash doesn't exist. However, I studied other BMW files and was able to port all the 3-stage related parameters, so the end result is very close to what a factory 130i flash would have looked like if BMW made one. |

Anyway the point was there was no way for individuals to flash an MSV80 without paying tuners hundreds of dollars. Now it is possible. |

I plan to install Turner's performance software (SULEV N51) entering into this summer. Does anyone know what I can expect to gain?

The Active Autowerke "Turner" software seems to be the most reputable/used among the forum. |

What exactly are you troubleshooting? It seemed like the easiest option as I live in MA and Turner is nearby. I somehow stumbled across posts in the e90 forum about issues with both the AA and BPC tune which makes me not want a tune at all anymore! Can a tune really expose issues that are essentially already there but just "dumbed down" by the stock tune? The car has 27,000 miles and continues to run beautifully. Also what are the specs of your wheels and tires setup? I am interested in some VMR beauties. Include some pics if its not a hassle! Last edited by TGel15; 03-30-2017 at 11:42 AM.. Can you send me a link to this thread? I have an N51 with headers and the AA tune and have no issues thus far - other than RPM hunting that occasionally happens at idle.
