E90 or C55 AMG?

Here is the thing - I like how BMW handles, I can even live with the new styiling on the outside (although I liked my e46 better), but my wife hates how it's done on the inside, especially the iDrive (we need NAV). Here is the issue: due to a special lease discount on the Merc, you can get C55 with 362hp for only $150 more per month. What do you guys think?

I drove the Merc and liked it but bought the BMW because I thought it offered more for the $$$ ... $150 more per month is $1800 per year or $5400 over the course of 3 years ... I would say save your $$$.

The C55 AMG is sweet, but $1,800 per year for just power doesn't really make sense.

362hp seems a bit much - the IDrive is great when you get used to it!

Yeah, it'd be a no-brainer. That's just it, I currently have 349 hp, going back to 258 is not easy

$150 more a month in payments can put you in a lot of different cars right now. I almost got the 05' E60 545 for only $147 more than my E90. The MF on the E60 is really low. Since I came from a '03 540, I wanted something different. Besides the fact that I loved how the E90 handled and it was not a gas hog V8.

I know about low MF was consedering this too, but 545 will become 550 in 06, + its design is much more "bangled" than e90, I really don't like it

what u prefere - 2.0L pepsi or 1.6L honda

I agree, another reason I didn't get the E60 was the design. Although it's growing on me.

Go for the C55!! you really really really love that car.. its an AMG!! The 330 is a great car but C55 is a whole different category! And if you are a true car nut then $150 more a month is worth it cuz its a whole lot better of a car!

yea. i dont even really see the comparison here. did it ever occur to you that these two cars are not even close by catagory compasrison. one is super luxury and is supercharged. the other is normally aspirated and at the low end of the spectrum. this is like comapring a porsche to a ferrari. it just comes down to how much that extra $150 means to you.

Hey, you sound exactly like my wife! After testing both cars she said exactly this. I can't explain this, but I am somehow drawn to a bimmer, I just can't stop thinking about those extra hp, though

galabov, the C55 is M3 teritory, $150 more a month for a big 360BHP V8!
The 330i is the best in its class but not a AMG or M.

u doubt im a BMW fan? hahaha.... i love BMW's and i bought an E90 330, but an AMG is an AMG!!

i am a lover of all good cars, be it BMW, Porsche or Mercedes... and im not gonna say E90 is better than C55 just cuz im on this board... First of all the E90 is a different kind of car, its still amazing but a C55 is M3 territory..

honestly, C55 is a true sports car and with killer performance and if you know that you will no regret your choice then go for it.. Or test drive it if you havent already... or you can consider a very low mileage M3 which is also a true sports car..

i agree just like a M5/M6 to a CLS more of a comparison would be a M3 to C55.. but I would have to say MB is truly a luxury sports car.. 330i doesn't compare.....

Dude if you can get the C55 in manual go for it...its a much better car and yes they shouldnt be in the same catgeory, maybe when the e90 M3 sedan comes out you can then compare those 2 cars....

No manual or SMG available, only 5 speed or 7 speed for '06 both with shifts buttons on the steering-wheel though like smg
