I'm sure the way I drive the car, I could get away without doing the carbon cleaning all together since I only have fun sometimes. But regardless, it should smooth out the idle as it is a slight lump sometimes, can feel it during cold starts. Think I also need to do the turbo as well, you can hear the ticking of the wastegate when it cold start and slightly goes away once warmed up.

Actually, slow & easy, lots of low RPM cruising is worse that beating on it where DI build-up is concerned. DI intake valve build up is one of those things where driving it hard is actually better.

Just drive it as you will, and do the maintenance as needed. If you're concerned look into doing some PCV upgrades. With the N55 tho you can pay more attention to other things without stressing 'bout it

Front & Rear Dash Cam

Installed (mostly) a Blackvue DR750S-2CH front and rear dashcam. At least I did what I consider the hard part. All I have left is to hardwire it, though I can run it off the lighter as it is now. Bought a Blendmount for the front camera.

Repolished the exhaust tips on my parent's E88.
And then hand waxed them with my dodo juice soft waxes that I never use anymore.
I got that tip from the vw forums. We will see if they stay cleaner longer and are easier to clean next time. Not that the NA engines get their exhaust tips that dirty...

Most certainly!

Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish which I get at Walmart.

I use an old shirt or sock to polish and buff away.

Cleans my tips on both the 1ers and my chrome tips on MKVII GTI.

Got one of these.
Not in a rush to paint/install it. Winter is coming. Found a reasonable ebay deal and jumped on it. Last one I tried said free shipping and turned out it was, just not to my doorstep, was greyhound.
This one was free shipping to my doorstep.

Now to figure out how to get the fog lights working like factory ...

A buffing wheel is a lifesaver.

Toss it in a drill, slather on compound and go to town.

Really really easy mod that is a big plus for safety (and aesthetics).

I wasn't really looking to buy it but the deal was there and I had the money.

I don't like the closed side vents though and I see painting/masking being difficult. And I just know that if it's not perfect I'm going to have an OCD breakdown. So I think it's in my best interest to make them functional ... possibly to the oil cooler that everyone seems to think will be blocked by the foglights ... and to a trans cooler on the other side that I DO need.
Should turn into a nice Winter project.

I'd skip the fog lights and modify some 1M ducting to fit, but that's me. TUN3D has a great post on fitting the ducting, but sadly the photos have fallen victim to photobucket bs.

Went to the self wash to wash the car last night, saw condensation in the headlight afterward and on the ride home. This morning when I started it up, passenger side headlight out with low beam warning error on the dash. Smh

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like everyone is slowly falling victim to that.

Any clues on what the general fix has been?

I'd imagine either the cover is loose, the gasket is gone bad (unlikely) or spiders have made a home in and are blocking the vent tubes (most likely).

New FRM with coding.
If I owned adaptive headlights, after reading all these posts about failures, I would take out my headlights and silicone every possible place water may seep in.
Poor design by bmw.

I have the 1M rep bumper from mod bargains, quality is great and fitment is perfect. Looks like it might be the same as what you received.

The fog lights do block the oil cooler and the installation requires you to remove all of the ducting, it will not fit anymore. If you want ducting you'll have to install the 1M duct work as mentioned above. I plan to do this myself but for now just have the fog lights out of the bumper so it just looks like an inlet.

Do yourself a favor and just have it professionally painted, it's not an easy thing to do and you want it done right on the front bumper since it sees so much abuse from driving behind cars.

Final tip - the lower body tray does not line up with the holes in the bumper. Just tuck it under the lip of the bumper when you install it, connect any body screws you can and it'll be fine.
