Oh, sorry, I told the story under the thread titled "Error Code 0093C3."

The back story is in there, maybe I should've put my last post in there...

"Error Code 0093C3." didn't really grab my attention, but if I spot "Error Code 0093C4." in the future, I'll be sure to check it out.

Yeah.

I'll use the automotive twist of "it's better than a swift kick to the head," which is "it's better than a blown head gasket!"

I'll give it some time. It's weird that I've been getting all of these failures after my being rear-ended...apparently I have a delicate flower for a car.

I've sat in those seats and found them pretty comfortable. They are very light on butt-padding though, so I recommend trying them out at a local shop before installing. Not sure how good they'd be for a DD.

Changed my mind (I do that sometimes). I'm eyeing the TRS-E XL (OMP), it's much less expensive and has more room for my large but lanky frame. I'll see if there's a racing shop near me where I can try it out, because that seems like a much better idea than the online "pin the needle on the donkey" method I seem to enjoy...

Yessir, it is most definitely fun! The best road I've had the opportunity to take my car on, so far...I still want to do Tail of the Dragon and LA Crest.
You have to take 522 from Glen Allen. So sweet!

Yup, been there. 675/675 out of Luray to Front Royal is great, or nearly any 600 number road in VA!

There are lots of them, especially out in the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge areas, and it's so beautiful out there. My mom would kill me, but I think the Appalachians in fall are prettier than the Rockies. Not as majestic and awesome, but more serene and beautiful...driving to Summit Point in September was wonderful, as you crested this one ridgeline, you'd be diving into the heart of the Shenandoah valley, and right at the base of the ridge, there was the river, and you can see the fog following the snaking river into the horizon.

I still think Joplin's my favorite, but I haven't driven outside my little bubble much; It's a harbor of peace and quite in an area filled with insanity and general hectic-ness...

I could run 9-inch wide wheels on my car, stepping up from a 225 to a 255 tire.

That would be beautiful...

Check my build thread. My wheel is a 9" with a 245, ET38 I believe. Fits great, looks great, handles great.

Just ordered parts to do my OFHG. I'll also be doing an oil change, coolant flush, and oil-water heat exchanger retrofit at the same time.

I'm thinking about doing a 15/85 antifreeze/water mix with water wetter added-in. Any thoughts on this mixture?

Oil will be standard Castrol 0W-40 Euro and a Mann Filter.

Now to wait for parts! I haven't done this in a while...

Hey Chris,

I notice there are several 1-Series people in the area. Maybe we should have a tech day like I do for motorcycles? See the link: http://advrider.com/index.php?thread...-2018.1278424/

15/85 is pretty low especially for VA. You guys get some cold temps. I'm somewhere around 40/60 + Water Wetter in TX, factory fill is 50/50. My car is also garaged - is yours? If left outside I would NOT do 15/85.

Also, antifreeze acts as a lubricant for the cooling system. I don't know if 15/85 is enough for the water pump and those things fail enough as it is.

Good luck on the OFHG! I just ordered that, valve cover gasket, eccentric shaft sensor, and a few other parts... have a long weekend ahead of me as well.

I'd just do 50/50 no additives like BMW likes. If the DME wants 110°C or 80°C it will get it, regardless of the mix inside.

I'm also adding-in Water Wetter, which'll give a bit of additional protection to the components (and also increase thermal capacity/transferrence), but I've been looking at charts and various articles about the freezing points, and 40/60 water/antifreeze seems like the right choice for my circumstances. I'll see how my temps are at the track this summer, and I can adjust accordingly. It's not too expensive, either. Certainly cheaper than a warped block and head (yikes!).

Thanks for the input!
