Suspension overhaul HALTED
I have an 08 135 and was planning on redoing the entire suspension come spring, considering its 10 years old. Winters are brutal here in NY and low and behold one of my shocks blew the f*** up Rear drivers side had the car driving like a boat for the day and a half I was winging it.
Brought it to my friends shop and it turns out the shock wasn't even attached on the top! I was lucky. Needless to say I had to have the rear shocks replaced. I was able to get OE bilstein shocks in there, I will check for the exact model and input it later. My question is does anyone have any recommendations on what to do next. I feel like I just blew some change on two rear shocks when I was looking at doing a performance upgrade come spring. Should I just leave them and get the fronts replaced with the same ones or should I get something else like the B8's and replace all of them come spring? I drive the car at reasonable speeds now, but I still love to jam him into the corners and I am planning on getting my first few track days in this summer. Thanks for any input. |

Consider it a sunk cost, and upgrade the suspension!! I did mine a few months ago and it absolutely transformed the car to exactly what I was looking for. FWIW, I had the same thing happen on my 09 e90 and it had only 60k on it. My mechanic said it was a very common failure on BMWs.

Just continue with it
Refreshed mine at 90k miles ish All four corners were pounded to shit and the car wasn't really driven in pot hole central. |

I would replace all come spring. At least you wouldn't have to regret not upgrading down the road.
I am actually in the process of upgrading my suspension too. I would recommend replacing top hats and anything rubber. My oem top hat had actually flattened when comparing my new replacement! |
