For anyone reading it won't fit the same in the N54 cars. Hell, n54 335i levers fit differently in the 135i version. Not as big a difference as N54->N55, but there you go.

Thread revival alert but wanted to contribute.
Quick post to say thanks to all who have contributed to this thread, particularly Dack The relatively long throw on the 1M shifter has bugged me a little from day one, particularly since my 130i daily driver has the BMW short shift lever fitted and has (had) a much nicer feel to it. Anyway after reading just about everything ever written about 1M/N54/N55 short shift kits I thought I'd give the 130i/330i short shift lever (part# 25110434219) a go since the 135i short shift lever (part# 25110434217) is no longer available. Worked out well and very pleased with the results. The throw is much reduced, feels a little notchy but in a lovely direct 'mechanical' way. No problems with any weird off-set of the gear knob etc. The knob is about the same height as before unfortunately. I'd have liked it to drop the same 10-15mm as in the 130i but the shifting arm sits taller in the 1M. For future reference here's a pic of the three levers I had available during the swap. Also measured throws on both cars using same method as Dackelone 1M with 25110434219 lever: 3rd - 4th = 41mm 130i with 25110434219 lever: 3rd - 4th = 50mm |

Didn't notice before, but I see a bunch of people who have used the "328i SSK" lever on their N55's. One reference to a 40mm-ish throw. For $60, why didn't I get this instead of the E60 550i lever I had to buy a press to bend? I don't really want to go tearing into the guts again, but for only $60 and an afternoon of my time it could be a worthwhile further upgrade. Definitely sits lower than the one I used!

Im trying to figure out the same question. So if i understand you correctly in my E82 135i N54 I can simply buy 25117542200 plus bearing and circlip and use the old #7 from my stock shifting kinematics? This would make the job so much easier and cheaper since the original n54 135i ssk one also includes a new #7 and is a PIT to change. |

The 135i's SSK is no longer available that comes with a modified #7 saddle. The 128i Perf SSK(lever) will give you 90% of the feel and shorter shifts movements that you are looking for. Btw... here is the install pdf...

Any confirmation of what transmissions this works with? I am given to understand the N55/1M have different trans than N54 with varying shifter arm angles. Also not sure how the 130 vs 128i vs other arms compare when trying to keep the lever centered in neutral.

The 130i Perf Shift lever arm is: p/n 25110434219 The 128i Perf Shift lever arm is: p/n 25117542200 I do not know what the difference is between the two shift levers. I suspect they both would work just fine. I also suspect the 130i lever has shorter throws since the 130i was BMW's sporty hot hatch at the time. Only way to know for sure is to order both shift arms/levers and see! Since both shift levers were designed for the 1er... I would bet that they are totally PnP parts. But again... the only way to know for sure... is to order one(or both!) and give it a try. shifter throws... N54 = 80mm throws N54 w/Perf SSK = 55mm throws N55 = 70mm throws See post #47... https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...=414760&page=3 Dackel

apparently the 25117542200 is at least in germany indicated as the one for 125i but i guess it's only because there is no 128i in germany. ordered one an will try it out as soon as a i get some spare time to fiddle around without using renting a ramp or so

As Dackelone has already mentioned this works on N55 MT's and the 1M (same box). The 130i arm I fitted was perfectly centred on the 1M - think I posted pic last year? However, I've moved on since then. I'll do a write up soon but here's a pic of my latest DIY modified/hybrid lever that I think is perfect in the 1M. Compared to the 130i lever the shift throw is slightly longer (it was always a little too short) but the knob sits 10-15mm lower (which I really wanted). The method I used should enable you to create a bespoke (to you) shift feel on any BMW manual box. |

Grave digging here.
Does anyone know if the 135i shift linkage is available for purchase? I can't seem to find it anywhere, as it's been discontinued. BMW 25110434218 It's the only piece of the BMW PSSK that I can't find! |

Long shot - but Rogue Engineering sometimes made the arm for their shift kits. They did a shifter for the E88 1M Coupe. (Say it's not for 135.)
Could give them a call and see if they ever prototyped it, or would be willing to. Other than that - junkyard/pick-n-pull?
