Finally flashed to MHD stage 2+. Power jump feels at least as significant as stage 0 to stage 1. Run flats spin through third now, time to start looking for real tires.

Tried and failed to swap the USB port inside the glovebox opening: can't reach back under far enough to get at the side clips, and looks like the fiber-reinforced plastic it's mounted in would require removing the dash to get to.
Getting the glovebox to drop was surprisingly difficult: the right-side spring clip did not have enough flex, and the glovebox has virtually no side-to-side play. I took out 1/2" more plastic on each side of the clip's plastic base to give it more flex. Still hard to open, but maybe less likely to break in a January rain on the side of the road trying to get at the fuse box. Getting its little shock to pop out was hard too: the inside edge of the pin catches on the glovebox body, almost like the pin is 1/2mm too wide. Didn't try to fix that. Nicked the convertible top on the awning, as I'd re-parked to work on the car to work on the glovebox area. Tore a little hole in the fabric, and scuffed the butyl front-edge seal. Wife had some stop-fray cement; it dried right away, gave it another 10 min, then put the top down. When I put it back up at the end of the day, the cement is now a spot stuck to the back of the roof and the frayed hole up front was that much bigger. Went for a scenic drive to Issaquah for an ethanol-free fillup. Took the scenic route up to see family in Duvall; could have been a preview for part of the upcoming CCA tour, the countryside was so pretty and the backroads so nice. (If you're in the area, the tour is 4/27, 8am start in Issaquah) Everything about "doing for" lil' blue ended up as "done to" it, but the driving was just about nice enough to make up for a badly started day.

Primarily due to the issues I had been having over the week lol it was a conscious decision. Didn't want something to go wrong while you were driving it! We'll definitely swap sometime soon though the car was fine the whole time so i'm 100% sure the issues were due to the EKPM unit being overloaded by the stage 2 pump. A lot of work ahead to get it all back in and functional now.

That cruise looks like a blast! Local BMW club here in town does a great job of setting up drives. Have one coming up in April where we're headed down to the outer banks for a long weekend. If you weren't so far away, I'd consider driving with you...

Car is dirty, but I put the M colors on a few weeks ago. Have to say these fit nice for being an ebay purchase. First BMW I've owned where I can officially fly these colors on my 128 m-sport...

Found out I still have some funky transmission problem, still.
It's either time/load related or somehow speed/gear related. Manual mode. Lean on it in 4th from about 60. Shift to 5th around 5,500rpm. Holds 5th for a second, jerks and shifts to 4th? Display reads 6th because that's what I click up to because of the jerk. Let off and let it coast. Takes 2-3 seconds and rpm drops and it shifts to 6th, display never changes. I'm not paying much attention to the cluster because of speed. So not sure what's really going on. But I kind think the trans is just saying, I donwannaanymoa. No issues at all in 1/2/3. |

I did the same a few weeks ago. Makes the car look so much nicer! Did you do anything with the dead pedal? I'm still trying to decide what I want to do as the pedal that is part of that set has an "M" logo in it, and I don't want to put that on.

PO in mine did the dead pedal but not the others. Mats were black with BMW monogram when I got it, I didn't even notice the M on the deadpedal til threads here mentioned. Seems more pronounced now with BMW's beige no-monogram mat set, but it's so stealth it's cool anyway, just for that.
I'll end up doing the pedal pads soon, just for the "improved braking and throttle response" I'll get from pedals that are easier to find

Have you ever done a fluid & filter change? My AT is the GM and I did it as a preventative maint thing but the shifts got better.

And, aside from the fluid change question, are you still running the custom shift points? or did you go back to the Stage 3 OTS map? I remember you fighting custom shift points quite a while ago...
